ANC Charter Day

ANC Charter Day Charter Day is our homecoming weekend, held in October each year to celebrate the signing of the Charter for the Academy of the New Church in 1877.

Every year, traditional festivities include ANC Secondary Schools reunion events, the Banquet, the Mix and Mingle, a family friendly tail gate party at the ANC Varsity Football game, and a golf outing fundraiser for our Student Scholarship Fund. The weekend begins with a visually-striking procession in which our students march from the Benade Hall to a worship service and address in Bryn Athyn Cathedral, led by the American flag and the remarkable class banners.

Join us on Friday 10/13 from 2-3pm at the Mitchell Performing Arts Center for a leadership update from Principals Schadegg and Irwin, President Carswell, and Bishop Buss. In addition to the subsequent announcement of class gifts, 11 recipients of the Glencairn Award will be acknowledged after a long hiatus in granting this distinction. We look forward to seeing all who can make it - no RSVP or ticket necessary.

The buildings of the Bryn Athyn Historic District will be lit, and Cairnwood will host drinks and desserts under the stars. Visit by the firepit and fountains, listen to live music, or
play yard games on the terrace. $38 per ticket, includes mini-dessert buffet, hummus and veggies, cheese buffet, and 2 drink tickets for beer, wine or coffee. The Procession and Charter Day Service: Friday, October 13th 10:15am.

Community members are invited to watch the Procession, which will begin at 10:15 at Benade Circle. The Cathedral Service will begin at 10:30. Cathedral seating is reserved for students and faculty only. The community is welcome to enjoy the service outside. It will be able to be heard from anywhere around the lawn.
