Bryant Elementary

BES is the oldest and largest elementary in the Bryant Public School system. We currently have over 850 students in grades PK-5.

Mission: Every Child, Every Chance, Every Day.

Operating as usual

Secondary (Grades 6-12) Parent Teacher Conferences will be held Tuesday, September 29. All students will be dismissed early (2pm) on this day.

We depend on technology in almost every aspect of {school} life.

Our Technology Team keeps our schools and departments connected. They manage over 11,500 Chromebooks and 2,000 iPads; staff computers & presentation devices; network equipment & Infrastructure; security cameras and access controls. Impressive for a team of 16!

Over the summer, this rockstar team built clips to join plexiglass sheets together to increase safety for students. Always creating and innovating, today we celebrate our Technology Team. #ITProDay

Tuesday is Picture Day! Virtual Students will have a different date for pictures. As soon as we have a definite date, we will let everyone know.

#HungerActionDay is a great reminder to purchase and donate peanut butter at any Bryant school until September 30. Your donation will help feed hungry children in our community. #SpreadHope

Bus Route Change for Bryant Elementary & Bryant Middle: Beginning Friday, Sept 11, students riding bus 52 will arrive home earlier in the afternoon.

Why peanut butter? Because nearly 5,000 kids in Saline County are facing hunger. You can help today by donating peanut butter to any Bryant school through September 30. #SpreadHOPE

FORM FOR BLENDED LEARNERS (DEADLINE TONIGHT): The current situation with COVID-19 is a very fluid one. District leaders are preparing for any number of possible situations during the school year.

ADH and DESE have provided a Levels of Response document ( to assist districts in the decision making process for different levels of positive cases. In the event of COVID-19 related closings (Bryant has to close classes or entire schools or the Governor closes all schools in the state), blended (onsite) instruction will transition to virtual (online) learning. The district is making preparations in advance to supply students with technology and educational services in order to have a seamless transition should virtual learning become necessary in the future.

We know some of our students do not have any type of internet or cell service at home. We also realize there are other obstacles for families when students move to all virtual learning. In the event of this transition, we are laying the groundwork to bring a limited number of students onsite, if possible.

If you have blended (onsite) students, help us by completing the following form. FILL OUT ONE FORM PER FAMILY.

Good news, Bryant families! We are now able to offer FREE meals thanks to a new USDA waiver. All students (PreK-12) will be able to eat one school breakfast and one school lunch, per day, at no cost beginning Tuesday, September 8.

Extra breakfast, lunch, or à la carte items must purchased separately.

The free meal waiver is effective through December 31, 2020. It is very important for families to fill out the free and reduced lunch application in order to continue receiving free (or reduced) meals after December 31. If you have not already done so, apply online at or pick up an application at any school office. The district receives important funding based on the number of free and reduced lunch applications submitted by October 1.

Parents: Thank you for your help with a great first week. We appreciate your patience as we start a school year that is very different from any we have had in the past.

We want to remind parents to call the District Point of Contact (POC), 501-414-6647, to report a positive COVID-19 case with your student or within your family. Calls should also be made if your child has been identified as a close contact with a positive case outside of school (church, family members, gyms, etc.). It is also important that if a parent tests positive, the children who live in the home with them are quarantined.

Please call the POC even if you are unsure if you should. It is always better to be cautious in situations where the safety of others is concerned.

We appreciate your help in keeping our Hornet family healthy.

SALT BOWL ATTENDEES: Masks must be worn inside War Memorial at all times during tonight's game. Fans are no longer able to remove masks inside social bubble. #MaskUp, Hornets!

In an effort to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus within our staff and student body, we are asking all Bryant parents/guardians to notify our District Point of Contact immediately when the following occurs:

• Your student tests positive for COVID-19
• Someone in your household tests positive for COVID-19
• Your student has been identified as a Close Contact to someone outside of school who tested positive for COVID-19

Contact the District Point of Contact with any COVID-19 questions rather than your school nurse. Jennifer Dawson and Katie Brooks will both serve in this role. They may be reached at 501-414-6647 or [email protected]. See the flow chart for more information:

Should it be necessary for the District Point of Contact to contact you regarding a COVID-19-related issue, the caller will most likely call from (501) 414-6647. Please enter this number into your phone.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation. Together, we help keep our Hornet family safe, healthy and learning ready!

Our teachers are having issues logging in to Zoom. Please know we are working on the problem and will have it resolved ASAP.

Parents, please help us keep our school community well by completing a Daily Health Check before your student leaves for school on the first day and every day.

Students and staff will be wearing masks this school year to help keep our Hornets safe. Mask Up! #LearningReady

Watch Here:

Elementary schools will have new procedures for afternoon car pickup. Schools will be using the Curb Smart system to manage car lines while helping students stay safe. To maintain social distancing and keep groups together, students will stay in their classrooms rather than wait in front of the school.

Parents will be assigned a number to be displayed on a car tag. Staff members will digitally input the number, which will automatically post to screens in each classroom. Students will then be escorted to the waiting vehicle.

We expect the new process to be much faster, more efficient, and safer for our Hornets.

Parents (Grades 1-5) should pick up new car tags at their zoned school on Thursday, August 20 from 12-4pm. Each school will message specifics for pickup.

Kindergarten parents will receive car tags on Monday or Tuesday during assessment.

Questions? Please contact your school.

Time to Apply: Free/reduced meal applications may be filled out and submitted online. If you choose to complete the application online, it is not necessary to fill out the paper application.
