Teacher of the Year Lindsay

To say Mrs. Fell was surprised to be announced Bryant Teacher of the Year is an understatement!

Lindsay Fell was named 2018-19 Bryant Teacher of the Year in a surprise assembly today. Mrs. Fell is the art teacher at Parkway Elementary School. The following was shared during the presentation:

As Parkway’s art teacher, Mrs. Fell is committed to growing creative and innovative minds by making learning deeply personal for every student. She enriches the lives of her students through art by providing them with meaningful learning experiences using technology. She empowers students to be digital leaders, sharing their skills both inside and outside of the classroom.

Mrs. Fell developed and implemented a school-wide Computer Science Week curriculum. She created a broadcast journalism program where students produce the weekly news for the school. Mrs. Fell also coordinated a school-wide interactive art show, where families experienced traditional art methods as well as new technology integrated into art projects.

Mrs. Fell is recognized as an educational pioneer who is using technology to transform teaching and learning in powerful ways. As an Apple Distinguished Educator she shares new instructional technology with not only teachers in our school district, but with teachers across the world, working with them to improve teaching and learning.

The culture and environment she creates within her classroom encourages students to grow in their confidence and abilities.

Mrs. Fell models creativity, innovation, and leadership to her students, parents, school, and community. Her enthusiasm and dedication to the teaching profession is evident in who she is and what she does.

For all these reasons and more, Lindsay Fell is Bryant's Teacher of the Year. Congratulations!

In the event school is closed, we will use AMI Day 2. Elementary students will do the work from their packets for Day 2 ONLY. Secondary students will receive their assignments through Google Classroom. Assignments will be posted by 9:00 am.

[04/30/19]   PARENTS: Three students at Bryant Middle School have been diagnosed with pertussis (whooping cough). Pertussis is a highly contagious disease involving the respiratory tract caused by a bacterium called Bordetella pertussis.

The health of our students is of the utmost importance to us. Our school nurses have been communicating with the Arkansas Department of Health to monitor the sick students as well as those who may have been in close contact with the students in the classroom, on the school bus, or other common areas at school.

School nurses have been contacting parents of students who may have been exposed to the disease. If you have not heard from a school nurse by letter or a phone call, your child has NOT been identified as a student within exposure range of the ill students. It is still best to observe your child for any signs or symptoms of whooping cough, and if so, contact your physician.

If you would like more information, please contact the Saline County Health Unit, at 501-303-5650 or your family physician.
