FORM FOR BLENDED LEARNERS: The current situation with COVID-19 is a very fluid one. District leaders are preparing for any number of possible situations during the school year.

ADH and DESE have provided a Levels of Response document ( to assist districts in the decision making process for different levels of positive cases. In the event of COVID-19 related closings (Bryant has to close classes or entire schools or the Governor closes all schools in the state), blended (onsite) instruction will transition to virtual (online) learning. The district is making preparations in advance to supply students with technology and educational services in order to have a seamless transition should virtual learning become necessary in the future.

We know some of our students do not have any type of internet or cell service at home. We also realize there are other obstacles for families when students move to all virtual learning. In the event of this transition, we are laying the groundwork to bring a limited number of students onsite, if possible.

If you have blended (onsite) students, help us by completing the following form. FILL OUT ONE FORM PER FAMILY.

Parents: Thank you for your help with a great first week. We appreciate your patience as we start a school year that is very different from any we have had in the past.

We want to remind parents to call the District Point of Contact (POC), 501-414-6647, to report a positive COVID-19 case with your student or within your family. Calls should also be made if your child has been identified as a close contact with a positive case outside of school (church, family members, gyms, etc.). It is also important that if a parent tests positive, the children who live in the home with them are quarantined.

Please call the POC even if you are unsure if you should. It is always better to be cautious in situations where the safety of others is concerned.

We appreciate your help in keeping our Hornet family healthy.

[08/28/20]   School WILL be in session today (Friday, August 28).

[08/27/20]   Earlier today a Bryant School bus veered off the road just past the Mills Park and Shobe Road intersection, traveling at a low rate of speed. No other vehicles were involved. Police and EMT personnel were called to the scene.

Bryant Public Schools was notified that the bus driver transporting students was detained at the scene. The driver was later arrested by the Bryant Police Department and charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Careless and Prohibited Driving, and Endangering the Welfare of Minors. None of the students on the bus were injured or harmed in any way. All of the students were transferred to an alternate bus and arrived home safely.

Bryant Public Schools takes this matter very seriously. We are committed to the health and safety of our students at school and while traveling to and from school on the bus. This incident does not represent the district’s many bus driving professionals who safely deliver students to school and home every day.

Bryant Public Schools will fully cooperate with law enforcement authorities in this matter.

Bryant Public Schools will also address this issue with the bus driver as a personnel matter and therefore will not be able to comment further at this time.

Please use extra caution on the roadways when you are on the way home from school or work. Arkansas may see flooding in some areas due to #HurricaneLaura. You can learn more about flood safety at Please be weather aware and stay safe! #Together4AR

[08/27/20]   Parents, no decisions have been made at this time regarding school on Friday. Please continue to check email, social media, our app, or website for updates.

Take this opportunity to download the Bryant Public Schools app for notifications directly to your phone.

Administration has been closely monitoring the possibility of severe weather from Hurricane Laura. The latest update from the Office of Emergency Management early this morning shows the time for the storm’s arrival in our area moved to earlier in the afternoon than expected in previous predictions.

Due to the possibility of severe weather, school will dismiss at 1:00 today.

We ask parents to watch for messaging about the status of tomorrow (Friday). Current predictions indicate that the severe weather will have moved out by tomorrow; however, if there are power outages, flooding, and/or road closures, we will have a remote learning day. Please check email, social media platforms, app and/or our website for updates.

Today, teachers will provide students with assignments for tomorrow in the event a remote learning day is needed. Teachers will provide paper assignments for those students who do not have internet access or devices.

Again, a decision has not been made about tomorrow. We just want parents to be aware in case arrangements need to be made for childcare.

Tomorrow is a BIG day for our LITTLE Hornets. To help you and your child have a great start, all kindergarten students will begin school at 9am on Thursday.

Mya is the K-9 assigned to Bryant Schools. These officers deserve recognition today and every day. Help us give Mya a shoutout by posting below!
