Bryant Pre-K

Bryant Pre-K

Bryant Pre-K is part of the Bryant School District. We operate 8 classrooms, each with a certified teacher and paraprofessional.

Mission: Bryant Pre-K will provide a quality preschool education in a safe, structured, and loving environment.

Operating as usual

The first of three district-wide Remote Learning days is on Friday, October 23. Remote Learning days were included in the revised 2020-21 calendar.

On Remote Learning days, ALL students (K-12) work from home. Two additional Remote Learning days are scheduled for February 15 and March 19. PreK is onsite and in session during each of the Remote Learning days.

Information on student expectations is available here:

Student Meals
The Food Service Department will provide meals on Remote Learning days. Student meals (one breakfast, one lunch) may be picked up at any school in the district. Parents may pick up meals for all students at one location. Meals may be picked up from any school site from 10:30-12:00 on Friday, October 23. A breakfast will be handed out for Saturday. Each school will communicate where meals will be distributed.

Register for meal pick up by Wednesday, October 14: bit.ly/30YRgAs

We are excited to announce that the federal government has extended the free meals for all students through the end of the school year! However, even though no one is required to pay for meals this school year, it is still very important for families to complete a free and reduced lunch application.

Why complete an application? Bryant Public Schools receives funding at both the state and federal levels, based on the percentage of students who qualify for free/reduced lunches. At this time, our applications are down considerably from this time last year. We use those funds for interventionists to help struggling learners, our pre-K program, a district social worker, among MANY other things. In order for our district to continue to receive these funds, we need you to PLEASE submit your free/reduced lunch application by THURSDAY, OCT 15.

Apply online at bit.ly/MealAccounts or pick up an application at any school office.

Want a flexible job that fits your child's school schedule? Consider becoming a substitute!

On #ChildHealthDay, check out the services offered by our Hornet Health Clinic. Medical, dental and eye care is available for any student in the district. Children learn best with they are healthy, feel well, and can see the world of opportunity surrounding them.

We depend on technology in almost every aspect of {school} life.

Our Technology Team keeps our schools and departments connected. They manage over 11,500 Chromebooks and 2,000 iPads; staff computers & presentation devices; network equipment & Infrastructure; security cameras and access controls. Impressive for a team of 16!

Over the summer, this rockstar team built clips to join plexiglass sheets together to increase safety for students. Always creating and innovating, today we celebrate our Technology Team. #ITProDay

#BecauseOfArtsEd ... Art is especially important in the early years, as children are learning about the world around them. Children can express their thoughts and process what they see in our world through hands-on exploration with musical instruments and visual art media. Children are able to develop mathematical reasoning, fine motor skills, and language skills through art. These foundational skills are needed for a child to be a successful student and adult.

#HungerActionDay is a great reminder to purchase and donate peanut butter at any Bryant school until September 30. Your donation will help feed hungry children in our community. #SpreadHope

Mark you calendars— picture day is September 21st! Information will be sent home too!

Why peanut butter? Because nearly 5,000 kids in Saline County are facing hunger. You can help today by donating peanut butter to any Bryant school through September 30. #SpreadHOPE

Good news, Bryant families! We are now able to offer FREE meals thanks to a new USDA waiver. All students (PreK-12) will be able to eat one school breakfast and one school lunch, per day, at no cost beginning Tuesday, September 8.

Extra breakfast, lunch, or à la carte items must purchased separately.

The free meal waiver is effective through December 31, 2020. It is very important for families to fill out the free and reduced lunch application in order to continue receiving free (or reduced) meals after December 31. If you have not already done so, apply online at bit.ly/MealAccounts or pick up an application at any school office. The district receives important funding based on the number of free and reduced lunch applications submitted by October 1.

More information is available at bit.ly/FreeStudentMeals.

Parents: Thank you for your help with a great first week. We appreciate your patience as we start a school year that is very different from any we have had in the past.

We want to remind parents to call the District Point of Contact (POC), 501-414-6647, to report a positive COVID-19 case with your student or within your family. Calls should also be made if your child has been identified as a close contact with a positive case outside of school (church, family members, gyms, etc.). It is also important that if a parent tests positive, the children who live in the home with them are quarantined.

Please call the POC even if you are unsure if you should. It is always better to be cautious in situations where the safety of others is concerned.

We appreciate your help in keeping our Hornet family healthy.

The Dawson HIPPY Program in Bryant has openings available. Call the HIPPY office at 501-653-5611 for more information.

It's not too late ... we still have a few openings in our Bryant PreK program! Application available at bryantschools.org. Paper apps available in tubs outside the PreK building. Call 501-847-5650 with questions. #SuccessStartsHere

DUE NOW: Arkansas law requires students entering Pre-K through 12th grade to provide proof of all required immunizations, or proof of an application for a valid exemption from immunizations, in order to attend school. THE REQUIREMENT INCLUDES VIRTUAL STUDENTS.

Contact the Saline County Health Department (501-303-5650), the Hornet Health Clinic (501-653-5040), or your primary care physician to make an appointment for vaccinations. #SafeHornets

All records, including exemption letters, should be submitted to the school nurse office as soon as possible.

[08/28/20]   School WILL be in session today (Friday, August 28).

[08/27/20]   Parents, no decisions have been made at this time regarding school on Friday. Please continue to check email, social media, our app, or website for updates.

Take this opportunity to download the Bryant Public Schools app for notifications directly to your phone.

Flashing Red Lights means students are getting on or off the bus. It is illegal to pass a bus from ANY direction when the red lights are flashing. Make safety a top priority. #FlashingRedKidsAhead

In an effort to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus within our staff and student body, we are asking all Bryant parents/guardians to notify our District Point of Contact immediately when the following occurs:

• Your student tests positive for COVID-19
• Someone in your household tests positive for COVID-19
• Your student has been identified as a Close Contact to someone outside of school who tested positive for COVID-19

Contact the District Point of Contact with any COVID-19 questions rather than your school nurse. Jennifer Dawson and Katie Brooks will both serve in this role. They may be reached at 501-414-6647 or [email protected]. See the flow chart for more information: https://5il.co/k0zh.

Should it be necessary for the District Point of Contact to contact you regarding a COVID-19-related issue, the caller will most likely call from (501) 414-6647. Please enter this number into your phone.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation. Together, we help keep our Hornet family safe, healthy and learning ready!
