Congratulations to Brittany Shapiro, a graduate student in the Skare lab, for receiving the Eugene and Millicent Goldschmidt Graduate Student Award from the Texas Branch of the American Society for Microbiology! This award provides support for Brittany to attend the regional ASM meetings in 2023 and 2024 and the Gordon Research Conference in 2024. Additional funding will augment her dissertation work by training for an extended period in Meghan Lybecker’s lab, CDC, on RNA biology. Great job Brittany!

Congratulations to Jugal Das, Postdoctoral Research Associate, Microbial Pathogenesis and Immunology on receiving the AAI-Careers in Immunology Fellowship 2022 which provides extramural Salary support for one year. This year, they have also published a first-authored article in the Journal Science Advances (IF 14), detailing the role of eef2k in cancer immunotherapy.
