A HUGE congratulations for the Bryan High School Cross Country team! The team excelled Thursday at the UIL District 12-6A Championships hosted by Waco Midway, sweeping both varsity individual titles, setting a new school record, and qualifying four athletes for the UIL Region II-6A Championships in Fort Worth.
Senior captains Ava Braden and Diego Duran led the Vikings with dominant victories. Braden won the girls’ varsity championship in 19:20.21, breaking her school record by 44.02 seconds and ranking ninth on the meet’s all-time performance list.
Duran defended his boys’ varsity title in 15:44.06, finishing more than 28 seconds ahead of the runner-up. His time ranks seventh in meet history, and he now holds two of the meet’s eight fastest recorded performances.
