Love your insurance policy but NOT your agent?

Did you know you may be able to change your insurance agent without changing your policy?

It’s called an Agent of Record change.

Basically, you’re telling the insurance company, “I want this agent to handle my policy going forward.”

Your coverage can stay the same you’re just changing who you have in your corner.

I’ve helped people do this before, although I don’t do it often.

Why?

Because my first step is usually to see if I can save you money by shopping your coverage with one of my many carriers.

But if you already have the best policy and the best price?

Keep it!

If you love your insurance but your agent isn’t providing the service you deserve, an Agent of Record change could be worth looking into.

You don’t always need a new policy. Sometimes you just need a better agent.

🚗 One of the biggest myths in auto insurance is that “full coverage” means everything is covered.

The truth is, “full coverage” isn’t an actual insurance term.

When people say “full coverage,” they usually mean a combination of liability, collision, and comprehensive coverage. While those coverages provide important protection, they don’t automatically cover everything.

Depending on your policy, items such as rental reimbursement, roadside assistance, GAP coverage, trailers, and custom equipment or modifications may not be covered. Even when they are covered, there may be limits on how much your insurance will pay.

That’s why it’s better to ask, “What coverages and limits do I have?” instead of “Do I have full coverage?”

When you’re shopping for insurance, don’t just ask for “full coverage.” Request specific coverages, review the quote with your agent, and make sure you understand what is and isn’t included. The worst time to discover a coverage gap is when you’re filing a claim.

Insurance isn’t about having “full coverage”—it’s about having the right coverage for your specific needs. Take time to review your policy so you know exactly what you’re protected against before you ever need to use it.

One of the things I enjoy most about the insurance industry is that there’s always something new to learn.

I had the opportunity to meet the CEO of Germania Insurance, along with members of their leadership team, and spend time learning more about the company, its values, and the importance of continuing education in our industry.

Insurance is constantly evolving, and staying informed helps me better understand the products, ask better questions, and ultimately provide better guidance to the people and businesses I serve.
