WAITING TO BE OUTDOORS!
😄As my tomatoes are sitting by the window, I imagine them saying in an excited voice, " Is it time yet? When can we go outside?"
Waiting IS the hardest part of gardening! We know good things are ahead so we want to rush to get success earlier. But at what expense? Good lesson for life too 👍
Texas zone 9a we are almost there for planting out. I err on the side of caution when it comes to planting in the spring. Remember spring veggies like warm soil and the night temps to be above 50.

HELLO SPROUTS!
3 days after sowing!
Cukes and zukes!
These seeds can be directly sewn into the garden as well. I like to start a few ahead of time for a head start. I'll direct sow seeds as I plant these transplants out in the garden too! Increases my chances for success🙂
It's not too late to start cucumber, squash, zucchini seeds indoors!
They don't take hardly any time at all to sprout and grow.

SPRING VEGGIE GARDEN PLANNING!
🌿If you are an indoor seed starter in Zone 9a:
🍅🫑Tomato and pepper seeds need to be started now! They take the longest of most veggie seeds to sprout.
🍅Start tomato seeds now to get a good harvest before the temps get too hot. Once it reaches about 94° tomato plants struggle to form fruit. The growth will slow down , yielding little to no fruit.
🍅 Here in zone 9A the last estimated frost date is around March 1st. You can plant out your transplants as early as then as long as you are watchful of any extremely low night temperatures. If that happens protect your plant with a frost blanket. You put cage around the plant and let the blanket drape over the top of it.
🫑🌶️ Pepper seeds can take up to 10 weeks to sprout! Get your seeds planted now if you want a big harvest. Pepper plants can take the heat. However, they will have slow growth with very high temperatures also.
🫑🌶️ Wait to plant pepper plants out when there is no danger of frost.
