🐴☀️ Week 2 Summer Horse Camp Recap! ☀️🐴

What a fun-filled week at camp!

This week, our campers learned all about horse grooming and the tools we use to keep our horses looking their best. We explored the parts of the saddle, practiced tying quick-release knots 🪢(and learned why they’re so important around horses), and put our skills to the test with a horse gear relay race!

We also got hands-on by bathing three horses, learning the parts of the hoof, and discovering why cleaning our horses’ feet 👣 is such an important part of horse care.

One of the week’s highlights was learning how horses travel! Campers got a firsthand experience with a trailer ride so they could understand what it’s like for our equine friends when they’re on the road.

We also learned about desensitizing horses and practiced leading them through sprinklers. Some of our horses thought it was the best idea ever, while others weren’t quite convinced! 😂

To wrap up an amazing week, campers enjoyed ba****ck riding and cooled off with some sprinkler fun—because nothing beats horses and water 💦 on a hot Georgia summer day!

We were also spoiled by Lori with some sweet treats from the Crumbl Cookie 🍪

Also, a quick shout out to those that spoiled us with endless popsicles!

🐎✨ Week 1 Horse Camp Recap! ✨🐎

What a week!!

We learned the parts of the horse, practiced grooming and horsemanship skills, made horseshoe keepsakes, went on a farm scavenger hunt, played Horse Bingo, a horseback egg relay, and showed off our creativity during the always-entertaining Feed Bag Fashion Show and so much more. We even had a special visit from the farriers!

Most importantly, we spent lots of time in the saddle building confidence, making new friends, and having fun with our favorite four-legged teachers. By the end of the week, everyone was trotting along like pros! 🐴❤️

There were plenty of laughs, a little bit of horse hair, lots of sunshine, and memories made that will last long after camp is over.

🌟 Week 3 still has a few spots available! If you have a horse-loving kiddo who would like to spend a week learning, riding, creating, and making horse-crazy memories, we'd love to have them join us!

The competition was fierce, the creativity was unmatched, and the runway was absolutely legendary! 🤩

🥇 #1 – Princess Fashion Frito Emmie
The judges were speechless! A full-length skirt with a daring ¾ slit, a custom-fitted tube top, handcrafted braided headband, and a perfectly placed bow. This look was giving feed-bag couture at its finest. 💃✨🏆

🥈 #2 – Princess Pirate Superhero Victoria
A true fashion visionary! Featuring a mermaid-inspired cape and flowing train, a princess crown, dramatic sleeves, and of course, designer-worthy Prada shoes. She arrived ready to save the world and walk the runway. 👑🏴‍☠️🧜‍♀️✨

🥉 #3 – Princess Sparkles Unicorn Maddie
Serving magical western chic with a revolver, a Zorro mask, and a lasso to tie the whole look together. Part princess, part outlaw, part unicorn… 100% iconic. ✨🦄🤠

Summer Horse Camp is in full swing, and we’re having an absolute blast with our horses! From riding and grooming to making new friends and unforgettable memories, every day has been packed with fun.

Great news—we’ve opened up spots for our Day Camps for the rest of this week and next week! If your child has been wanting to give horses a try, this is the perfect opportunity. Whether they join us for one day or several, we’d love to welcome them to the barn. Our day camp cost is $95 per day.

What an amazing day at the Frederica Hunt Series Horse Show hosted by The Stables At Frederica🐴✨

We are so proud of all our riders who stepped into the ring today and gave it their all. Every rider, regardless of where they are in their journey, rode with heart, determination, and grace. They all represented themselves with confidence and sportsmanship.

There were beautiful rides, impressive accomplishments, new goals reached, and plenty of reasons to celebrate throughout the day. Watching our riders grow in skill and confidence is what makes days like this so special.

☀️ Summer is almost here, and Golden Isles Riding Academy Summer Horse Camp is where the fun begins!

Campers will spend their days learning horsemanship, grooming, tacking, and enjoying two horseback rides every day—plus plenty of laughs, new friendships, and unforgettable barn adventures.

No experience? No problem! Beginners are welcome, ages 7–17.

Fair warning: your child may come home a little dirty, smelling faintly of horses, with hay in their shoes, and talking nonstop about their favorite horse… but we consider that a successful week at camp. 🐴😂
