We have put together a series of relevant topics which will be presented in a "live" ground course class format over the next few months. It's only one night a month from 6 pm to 8 pm at the NEAA main office.
Here is the schedule and topics:
Feb 18th - Winter weather and how to be your own forecaster? We will do a deep dive into a full weather briefing and talk about some areas to focus on.
March 18th - IFR charts - how to read them and interpret them. We will go over several and teach you to brief an approach plate in 30 seconds or less.
April 15th - Emergencies/Abnormals/Lost comm procedures. What would you do if...? This will focus on the areas you hope you never experience in the air.
May 13th - Foreflight as it applies to IFR flight and VFR flight with a planned IFR flight. We will use Foreflight to do a complete brief, planning, and filing of an IFR route and will show you some tricks. Bring your IPAD.
We'll develop topics for future sessions based on your input.
The cost is $100 per session or $375 for all 4 sessions. Package discount of course.
Please let us know as soon as possible your interest level as we need to plan for space. We do have other options on the property if we get a large group. We will provide a ground logbook endorsement for these sessions as well.
