Our district was recently spotlighted by the Georgia School Board Association, giving us a wonderful platform to showcase what makes our school system special. From innovative programs to our hard-working staff and students, we loved getting to share a piece of Glynn County with the rest of Georgia. We truly have so much to be proud of. ✨

Huge congratulations to Henry Lezotte, a 2026 graduate from Glynn Academy & Golden Isles College and Career Academy, for being named one of only six students in Georgia recognized by NAPA on SkillsUSA National Signing Day!

Henry officially signed his letter of intent at Truist Park to enter the skilled trades. He will be continuing his education at South Georgia Tech to study Diesel Mechanics through the Yancey Bros. Co. "Think Big" program. To help launch his career, Henry received a $2,500 NAPA scholarship and a Carlyle toolbox set.

We are incredibly proud of Henry’s hard work, drive, and dedication to his future career path. Join us in celebrating his outstanding achievement in the comments below! 🛠️

K-12 Intradistrict Transfer Applications Now Open!

An intradistrict transfer allows families to request that their child attend a school within our district other than their assigned neighborhood school.

What you need to know:
- Kindergarten: The priority application window is now open.
- Grades 1–12: Applications are restricted to schools and grade levels with remaining capacity, as the primary transfer window for these grades occurred last school year.

Please Note: Approvals are not guaranteed and are strictly dependent on space availability. If approved, families must provide their own transportation.

We are incredibly grateful for our community partners! This week, Vaden Hyundai volunteered across all Book Space stops, teaming up with the Brunswick-Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce to provide STEAM kits for our students to take home after enjoying their lunch. Our schools are so blessed by their continued dedication and support. 🚌

Now that the school year has wrapped up, we are keeping our kids fueled and reading all summer long! We have two great programs happening across the county for all children ages 18 and under:

🏫 Eat On-Site School Meals: Be ready for summer fun with delicious, no-cost breakfasts and lunches served right in some of our school cafeterias.

🚌 Book Space Mobile Library: Catch the bus in your neighborhood to borrow a book and eat a fresh lunch right at the stop.

Inside the Classroom 🔍

We all know that keeping students focused in May can be a challenge as they count down the days to summer break. But at Golden Isles Elementary School, Mrs. Tara Martinez found a brilliant way to keep her students completely engaged.

Mrs. Martinez transformed her classroom every single day for most of the moth of May. Her students got to travel to outer space, explore the zoo, go camping, step back in time with dinosaurs, and walk the red carpet for a special VIP day.

An incredible amount of planning and hours went into pulling this off, but the result is a series of active learning experiences her students will likely never forget. Thank you, Mrs. Martinez, for your dedication to making learning an adventure until the very last bell!

Today, we pause to honor and remember.

As we observe Memorial Day, Glynn County Schools remembers the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in our nation’s armed forces. We are deeply grateful for their selflessness, and our hearts are with the families who carry their legacies forward.

In observance of the holiday, all district schools and offices are closed today.
