We may be 11 different women with 11 different personalities, but when we walk into your home, we work as ONE.

Every single woman on my team is personally trained by me. They learn how I see a room, how I build a plan, how I care for our clients, the pace I expect and what it means to finish what we started.

Basically, when you hire my team, you’re getting Ericka 2.0. Eleven versions of me might sound slightly terrifying, but I promise it’s a good thing. 😂

Ladies… I have something very important to tell you.

Even Robin Swoboda has a basement. 😂😂

You know what I mean. THE basement.

Because life gets busy. Work. Family. Activities. Schedules. Commitments. A million things that actually need your attention…and somehow “organize the basement” keeps getting moved to next Saturday for approximately 147 Saturdays. 😂

So Robin called us.

We rolled up our sleeves and got to work.

And THIS is my favorite part of the entire story…

Robin was very open about the fact that somewhere in the middle of this process, she absolutely HATED IT. 😂

Not the basement.

Not the stuff.

Possibly us. 😂😂😂

We went to lunch and I’m pretty sure she was considering changing the locks before we got back.

Because here’s the part nobody shows you about organizing:

The middle SUCKS.

Everything is out.
You’re making 900 decisions.
We keep asking, “Keep or donate?”
And at some point you start wondering why the hell you invited these women into your house. 😂

I always tell clients:

In the beginning, you love us.

In the middle, you’re questioning every decision that brought us into your life.

And by the end…

You love us again. 😂

And Robin DID.

By the time we finished, she was in love with her basement.

That’s organization.

It isn’t always pretty little bins and perfectly folded towels. Sometimes it’s messy before it gets better. Sometimes you get overwhelmed. Sometimes you want your organizers to go to lunch and never return. 😂

And THAT is why I wanted to share Robin’s basement.

Because she’s someone so many of us know, love and admire—and guess what?

Her life gets messy too.

Not because she’s a messy person.

Because she’s a HUMAN with a full life.

And apparently even Robin Swoboda has a basement that occasionally needs rescued from itself. 😂❤️

Thank you, Robin, for trusting us with it—and more importantly, for letting us show the REAL process.

Because I have a feeling a whole lot of women are looking at these pictures right now thinking…

“Oh thank God. Me too.” 😂

My goodness, I’m hilarious.

So let’s do something fun and easy-peasy:

THE THURSDAY–SUNDAY CHALLENGE

Every day, walk into one room, choose ONE item you no longer need and donate it.

The next day, pick a different room and do the same thing.

That’s it. No tearing apart the entire closet and questioning every decision you’ve made since 2006. 😂

One item. Four rooms. Four days.

By Sunday, that’s four fewer things you have to clean, organize or move around.

And no…your husband does not count as an item. 😂

There are suddenly a whole lot more of you, so I thought this might be a good time to properly welcome you—and tell you what you’ve gotten yourself into. 😂

I’m Ericka Peake, Founder and CEO of OCD Home Solutions™.

Here’s what you should know:

We organize, declutter and move people throughout Northeast Ohio and nationwide.

We help overwhelmed families take their homes back.

We help seniors and their families navigate difficult transitions with dignity, patience and care.

We help people sort through years of belongings without judgment, shame or someone standing over them saying, “Just throw it away.”

Have you ever walked into a store where everything is crammed together, clothes are falling off the hangers and you have to dig just to find your size?

You become overwhelmed and walk out without buying anything.

Your closet can do the exact same thing.

You can own beautiful clothes and still stand there every morning saying:

“I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR!” 😩

Meanwhile, 47 shirts are fighting for their lives on one clothing rod. 😂

How you present what you own matters.

Three ways to make your closet feel more like shopping and less like combat:

1️⃣ Move out-of-season clothing.

If you won’t wear it for the next several months, it doesn’t need prime real estate. Your everyday clothes shouldn’t have to fight your winter coats for breathing room.

2️⃣ Keep like items together.

Jeans with jeans. 👖
Sweaters with sweaters.
Dresses with dresses. 👗
Handbags with handbags. 👜

When everything has a home, getting dressed becomes so much easier.

3️⃣ Give your clothes room to breathe.

If removing one hanger requires upper-body strength and a prayer, your closet is too full. 😂

Before buying another organizer or another set of matching bins, take an honest look at what’s actually living in your closet.

You probably think I love organization—or that I’m a perfectly organized human being.

And while I do love organization, I am certainly not perfectly organized. I lose my cell phone about 39 times a day. 😂

But I’m going to let you in on a little secret:

I use organization to reach you.

Because what I really want is to help you walk through those doors toward healing.

What I do has very little to do with bins, labels or perfectly folded towels. Those are simply the tools that open the door to what I truly love:

Really seeing you.

Connecting with you.

Watching the hope and excitement return to your eyes.
