Mrs. Rocha’s kindergarten students had a blast during STEM time bringing their science focus for the week to life! Young learners put their creativity and critical thinking into action as they designed and built their own plant and animal models.

Hands-on Science: Students applied weekly science concepts by constructing physical representations of plants and animals to show how they live and grow.

Engineering & Creativity: Using a variety of STEM materials, students planned, built, and shared their unique creations.

Kudos to our creative kindergarteners for showing off their life science knowledge! 🌿🦁🌱

1st grade students in Ms. Deaton and Mrs. Wilkerson's classes put their creativity and critical thinking to work during library STEM time! Using hands-on materials, students built impressive 3D models to demonstrate their knowledge of different landforms—including mountains, valleys, islands, and hills.

Hands-on Learning: Students applied science concepts by constructing physical representations of land and water features.

Collaboration & Problem Solving: Working together, young learners planned, designed, and presented their geographical creations.

Great job to our future geologists and engineers for showing off their landform expertise! 🏔️🏝️

Grandparents' & Special Friends' Day at C.B. Greer! 🦈💙

We are so excited to welcome our Grandparents and Special Family Friends to experience a glimpse of a day at Greer! Instead of our traditional meal, guests will visit different places throughout the school to see where our Sharks learn, play, create, and grow.

Mark your calendars for your student's special day:

Wednesday, Sept. 16: Pre-K, 4th & 5th Grades

Thursday, Sept. 17: 2nd & 3rd Grades

Friday, Sept. 18: Kindergarten & 1st Grade

Event Details:

Time: Activities begin between 8:30 AM – 9:00 AM and conclude by 10:30 AM.

Refreshments: Light refreshments will be served.

Second grade sharks participated in a collaborative activity to “Save Fred!” Fred (gummy worm) fell out off his boat (cup) and needed to be rescued by a life preserver (peach ring). The students had to collaborate by using only paper clips to flip his boat over and place him in the life preserver and then back into his boat. They could not touch the cup or Fred or his life saver, they could only use paper clips. The first time they could talk and communicate, but the second time they’d round it was silent. Fred was saved by each group!! Yay!! Then the students enjoyed a gummy treat!

5th grade student Magnolia Culpepper had a special gift for the media center: her dad’s newly published book! Ghost, Set, Match is written by W.G. Culpepper, who is also an educator in the Glynn County School System. Ghost, Set, Match is a novel written with grades 4-8 in mind and perfect for students who love novels about sports. We can’t wait to get this processed and ready for checkout!
