Last week, at the Georgia Association for Career and Technical Education conference in Columbus, our own Chef Laura Bersticker was recognized by Georgia College & Career Academies as their nominee for "Teacher of the Year"! Congrats Chef!

Last week, GICCA Principal and CTAE Director Dr. Joseph Depenhart was recognized as the Georgia College & Career Academies nominee for Administrator of the Year at the annual Georgia Association for Career and Technical Education conference in Columbus. Congrats Dr. Depenhart!

Big News! GICCA will be participating in the state's new Work Based Learning Diploma option for students entering high-demand careers! This new diploma maintains Georgia's 23 credit graduation requirement and includes completing 2 high-demand career pathways and 4 credits of Work Based Learning in paid positions related to those pathways.

The Work-Based Learning Diploma will allow students to combine career-focused coursework with extensive paid work-based learning experiences in high-demand fields, helping them graduate workforce-ready and prepared for success.

We have a student seeking a Work Based Learning position with an Electrical company beginning this summer and throughout the 26-27 school year. Richard has completed the Carpentry and Electrical Pathways including Occupational Safety. He also has taken Auto Tech courses as well. His hours over the summer are flexible and he'll be available to work 20 hours per week in the Fall and Spring. DM us if you have a position available or know a company that is interested.
