Congratulations to Candace on being named a National Finalist for her Veterinary Science Proficiency Award! 🐾

For the past five years, Candace has worked at a veterinary clinic, where she has grown through hard work and dedication. She started out as a kennel technician and has steadily developed her knowledge and skills in the veterinary field.

Candace is now a veterinary assistant and is trusted to perform blood draws independently, administer medications to patients, and assemble surgical packs. Her passion for animal care and commitment to learning have led to this incredible accomplishment.

Congratulations, Candace! We are so proud of you and can't wait to see all you accomplish at the national level in October!

Work Based Learning Intern Anna recently finished her time with King & Prince Seafood where she worked in the Engineering department her entire Brunswick High School senior year and summer. The culmination of her time with the company required a capstone presentation to company leadership where she spoke of her time with the company, the projects she worked on and the lessons she learned. Anna heads off to Georgia Southern University this fall to major in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Manufacturing Engineering.

SUPPORTING CAREER EDUCATION: Representatives from Shupe Surveying Company PC recently celebrated their third consecutive year of participating in the Peach Education Tax Credit program through Georgia Foundation for Public Education . Since 2024, the company has redirected $30,000 of its Georgia state income tax liability to support the Golden Isles College & Career Academy (GICCA). We are now seeking volunteers for the 2026–2027 Business Buddies Program in partnership with Glynn County School.

Each week, Business Buddies spend just 30 minutes reading with a first grade student, helping build confidence, strengthen reading skills, and inspire a lifelong love of learning. Each year, the Chamber provides books to 100 students who are most at risk of reading below grade level, and our goal is to pair as many of those students as possible with caring volunteers from our business community.

The program kicks off on September 24, and we'd love to have you join us in making a difference.
