Pictured here is a 5-time usher with our treasured ‘Concert Tonight’ sign.

Ushers come and go, but our sign has remained a constant through all 55 years of the Festival. How else would our audiences find us? How else would we find ourselves?

“I thought the highlight of my final day at the Festival was seeing my favorite piece, Saint-Saëns’s Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso, preformed at YAS. Little did I know, the Usher Corp waited for me with open arms and unstuffed programs. It was humid in Crooker, but the Corps called and I answered.”

Until next year, BIMFUAA signing off.

We had the honor of returning our beloved vans back to their home today. Being a festival van is often a thankless job but without them the Usher Corps would not be able to move efficiently from our homebase in Studz, across oceans and highways, to Crooker. The vans will be remembered for their unwavering dedication to BIMF and especially for their service to the Corps on Festival Fridays. It has truly been an honor to work along side these incredible vehicles. The festival may be over, but we will never forget the work of our cherished vans. It's not a goodbye, it's a see you later.

"My time with the BIMF Usher Corps has given me a sense of profound moral fulfillment that I have not experienced through anything else. Because of my time with the BIMFUC, I have discovered my true calling. I have decided to change my major from a BM in violin performance to a BU --Bachelor of Ushering. As a result of the excellent training I've received this summer, I'll be able to apply to the top Ushering programs in the country. As I enter my senior year of high school, I feel prepared to follow the path I am meant to live."

"Joining the BIMF Usher Corps gave me a sense of truly belonging that I didn't even know I was looking for. The fresh programs, the a/c inside the recital hall, and (of course) the sleek uniforms mean the world me. With this girl by my side, I know I can do anything."

"I totally agree. I know that there's a whole network of ushers out there who will always have my back. Being an usher isn't just another assignment, it's a life changing experience that I will cherish forever."

"Although some would describe me as a talented violist, it's much more rewarding to be recognized for my excellent ushering here at BIMF. I put an enormous amount of love and care into each program I hand out, it feels like I'm giving away some of my own heart with each program. In a good way.“

"I walked into the lobby a little confused about what I was supposed to do or where I was supposed to be. First, I had the opportunity to Fauré-ge for programs left behind in the hall from previous concerts. Then, I was Mozartfully shown how to greet people and hand out programs. The concert went by so Faust--every performance was breathtaking and I truly Raveled in every passing moment. I'm confident that anyone will be able to identify with this phrase: 'U-sher won't be able to forget the joy of ushering here .' I'm forever inspired."
