It has been a BUSY week in Ag! 🌱🔨🌺

We’ve solved crimes against plants 🕵️‍♀️🌿, learned the first paragraph of the FFA Creed using ransom notes, and tried our hand at planting poinsettia plugs!

Our putt-putt courses are officially under construction ⛳, the raised beds are looking better every day, and there is always something happening around the Ag room!

Outside the classroom, some of our crew volunteered at Ag Alley at the Henry County Fair, and we had a HUGE turnout of students interested in Soils and Horse Judging! 💙💛

The full moon is out, everybody has a little extra energy 😂, and we are ROCKING AND ROLLING!

Today is one of those days that is really fun, but also exhausting. Students in landscape and turf and greenhouse have been in the courtyard. We are in the process of repairing raised beds and building portable putt putt holes designed by the kids. Here's a sneak peak of the work in progress. Stay tuned for the results!

Another top 10 finish! The grill team competed in 100+ heat index temps and placed 9th in the state with 34 teams at the TN State Fair. They prepared an amazing chuck eye steak and cream cheese filled jalapenos in 1 hour. 🔥💙

This week was full of fun, learning, and hands-on experiences in the ag classroom! 💙💛

👨‍🌾 Flat Stanley grew up and needed a job! Students explored careers in agriculture, and on the back of each Stanley they included an ag career, average salary, and skills needed for that career.

🌿 We learned about FFA and greenhouse history and explored SAE project ideas.

📄 Students worked on building resumes and developing career-ready skills.

🔥 We also practiced for State Grill — a big thank you to Allie for bringing the grill supplies so we could get some practice in!

🛠️ And finally, students started planning a few construction projects for our courtyard. We have some fun hands-on projects coming soon!

Another busy week of learning by doing in the ag classroom! Wish us luck as we head to the State Fair on Monday for several competitions.

It was a great first week! This week, our students got a firsthand look at several of the Career Development Events (CDEs) offered through FFA. From identifying livestock and meats to learning about soils, plants, and more, they were able to explore the many opportunities available through agricultural education.

We can't wait to see which competitions spark their interest and watch them grow their skills throughout the year. Here's to an exciting year of learning, leadership, and FFA success! 💛💙
