1. PG-13 in adult class
2. Grown ups have responsibilities and we are happy for you to get to train after work runs late, but if you're late, come in looking like you were in a hurry.
3. Be in condition to be a good training partner. That means not under the influence of drugs or alcohol, but also means brush your teeth and be clean.
4. Cell phones aren't allowed in the training room except in bags.
5. Here's where it gets tricky, and it goes both ways. I never felt comfortable telling two adults or young adults who weren't my kid who they can and can not date. Here's my solution: If someone in the gym is uncomfortable because of your advances and you persist, you will be invited to find another gym. If there is a dating relationship that ends and someone leaves the gym, the remaining party assumes the tuition of the departed party for 3 years, on top of their own. Dating relationships inside the gym that end ALWAYS end up with either the female or the lower ranking male leaving, so if you're gonna shoot your shot, you better be planning on making a go of it, or your training will get expensive in a hurry. Also, when you finally leave, I'll call the departed students back and we'll make fun of you.

That was a pretty great day of competition! Everyone had full brackets and great matches, and the 7 kids and 3 adults who competed today all took podium places earned by wins on the mats. No participation medals in this one! Congratulations to everyone who enjoyed the results of all the hard work they put in at home.

Martial arts have a funny way of always bringing you back where you started. Congratulations to Gary Head on taking this next big step in his journey. Gary just taught his first jiu jitsu class on the mats that he used to roll on as a new guy when I taught in Goldthwaite at the Southside Tavern (ETA next door.)
