Today, Mr. Hoffman had the opportunity to share about Brown County Christian School at the Brownwood and Early Chambers Education Luncheon and what is happening on our campus.

As he reflected on what he wanted people to know, he shared that our story is about much more than numbers.

For a small school, growing from 30-something to 80 students over the last five to six years is significant. It has changed our systems, staffing, facilities, communication, and how we think about the future. But more importantly, it opens the door to new dreams and opportunities for our students.

This past year, Mr. Hoffman shared that we've also been blessed to expand our tutoring program, serving students throughout Brown County through generous grant funding. He extended the invitation to the local schools to partner with BCCS and local teachers to provide even more tutoring opportunities in our community.

He shared that we've also been working diligently through the Christian Schools International accreditation process and recently received provisional accreditation last fall. The process has challenged us to ask some important questions and really reflect on the past and the future.

Growth requires us to keep evaluating, adjusting, and improving.

We aren't trying to become a completely different school overnight. We're committed to getting better one day at a time. Mr. Hoffman believes that applies to all of us in education. Whether a public school, private school, or Christian school, we have diverse philosophies, resources, and challenges, but we all share something incredibly important: We all want to help kids succeed.

When our students succeed, Brown County benefits.
When our teachers are supported, Brown County benefits.
When families have good educational opportunities, Brown County benefits.

We are grateful to be part of the Brown County education community and excited about what God has ahead for BCCS.

Heavenly Father,

As a new school year begins, we lift our community's schools, teachers, administrators, staff, students, and families before You.

We pray for every school building, which will be filled with learning, laughter, challenges, and opportunities in the coming days. Protect every student and adult who enters those doors. Keep our schools safe and grant wisdom and discernment to those caring for and educating our children.

We especially pray for our teachers. Grant them patience during tough days, creativity when students need fresh approaches, strength when they are weary, and encouragement when doubts arise about their impact. Remind them that the seeds they plant today may grow into fruit that appears years later.

Give our administrators wisdom to lead bravely, humbly, and compassionately. Help them make decisions that prioritize students and foster environments where students and teachers can flourish.

Bless our students. Instill in them a desire to learn, courage to face challenges, kindness toward others, and confidence to recognize the gifts and potential You have given them. Help them see that grades, test scores, athletic achievements, or opinions don’t define their worth.

We also pray for parents and families. Gift them with wisdom in guiding their children, patience through difficulties, and opportunities to collaborate meaningfully with schools.

Father, remind us that education is more than academics. It shapes lives, develops character, and prepares the next generation to impact the world.

May our schools be places where truth is valued, excellence pursued, differences respected, kindness shown, and every child reminded of their purpose and potential. Let our words, actions, classrooms, athletic fields, and relationships reflect Your love and truth. Regardless of a school's mission or affiliation, may this year be marked by growth, safety, wisdom, unity, and hope.

We entrust this school year to You. Protect our schools, children, and teachers, and guide us as a community to invest faithfully in the next generation.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.

We had a great morning being fed breakfast by Salt Creek Baptist and hearing the word out of Romans 8 by Pastor Dalton Mathis. We were then blessed with some wisdom from Dr. Jim Wunderle of HPU.

The beauty of this year, with a growing staff and student body, is hearing the teachers encouraging one another and sharing ways to build one another up to be the best for their students.

One of the roots of our year is being rooted together to help our students rise, and we've already seen that in action!

It’s a great year to be a Warrior!

We know school is still a few weeks away. Still, as we prepare for a new school year at Brown County Christian School, we invite our families, alumni, and community to join us in covering our teachers in prayer, as well as the teachers in our community.

Behind every classroom door is a teacher who has spent the summer preparing lessons, organizing classrooms, attending trainings, and praying for the students God has entrusted to them. They are not just educators; they are people who carry joys, burdens, hopes, and challenges just like the rest of us.

Would you commit to praying for our teachers over the next few weeks?

Pray that God would give them:
🍎 Wisdom as they prepare for the year ahead.
❤️ Strength and renewed energy after the summer.
📚 Creativity and excellence as they plan lessons.
🤝 Healthy relationships with students, parents, and fellow staff.
✨ Discernment, compassion, and patience for every child they will serve.
🛡️ Protection over their families, health, and classrooms.
🙏 A deep sense of God’s presence as they fulfill the calling He has placed on their lives.

“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” Proverbs 16:3

Thank you for partnering with us not only through your support, but through your prayers. Let’s lift every member of our BCCS family as we begin another year of being Rooted and Rising together. 🌳⬆️
