This week was an exciting step forward as our team participated in an incredible week of training with Build UP, as we launch YouthBuild Brownsville as an independent organization.

Building a school is about so much more than opening doors…it’s about creating systems, strengthening culture, and ensuring every decision reflects our mission of preparing young people for high-demand careers, leadership, and homeownership.

YouthBuild Brownsville was honored to participate in the One City Summit, joining education, workforce development, business, and community leaders to discuss the future of our region and the opportunities we can create together for our students.

This summit comes at an exciting time for our organization as we officially launch our inaugural school year as an independent high school dedicated to preparing students for both college and high-demand careers.

Through our school and partnerships, students have access to rigorous academics alongside hands-on career pathways in Construction, Welding, CNC Machining, and Manufacturing. Students also have opportunities to earn industry-recognized certifications, participate in work-based learning, and graduate with the skills employers are looking for.

We are grateful to be part of a community that believes in investing in young people and building a stronger workforce for the future. Thank you to the One City Summit organizers and all of our education and workforce partners for your collaboration and shared commitment to student success.

YouthBuild Global Receives $6.2M AmeriCorps Grant Renewing National Service Partnership Young people in local YouthBuild programs to further serve their communities and neighbors

This week, members of our team have been in Birmingham, Alabama, learning alongside Build UP and diving into Geometry in Construction. As we prepare for the launch of a new school year, we're excited to bring these innovative, hands-on learning experiences to our students. We can't wait to welcome our inaugural class and begin building futures together.

Diamond Legacy: Watch a YouthBuild Brownsville Graduate Shine Rolando, a 2025 graduate of cdcb YouthBuild, rises from personal loss and early challenges to become a confident leader whose growth reflects the transformative spirit of the program.

Today we celebrated the end of our pilot with both parents, friends, and students. Huge congratulations to our students on this momentous milestone and for helping build the foundation of YouthBuild Brownsville. We are so excited to see what comes next! Keep believing in yourselves. The best is yet to come.

A friendly reminder: Our first day of school for the upcoming 26-27 school year will be August 10th with a Meet the Teacher Night on August 5th from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
