Gladys Porter Early College HS Advanced Manufacturing Class had the opportunity to visit SATA USA manufacturing facility and Port of Brownsville, TX along side Texas A&M RGV Advanced Manufacturing Hub. Students gained firsthand exposure to precision manufacturing workflows at SATA USA, observing advanced production processes, automated assembly systems, quality control protocols, and lean manufacturing practices in a real-world industrial environment. Students also acquired valuable insights from the Port and the Advanced Manufacturing Hub, exploring diverse career pathways, workforce development initiatives, and industry-aligned training opportunities, while learning key operational facts related to logistics, supply chain integration, and modern manufacturing ecosystems.

Gladys Porter Early College HS Advanced Manufacturing Students had the opportunity to obtain their S.A.C.A Gold Certification in Pneumatic Systems at Texas Southmost College ITEC Advanced Manufacturing and Robotics Automation Lab. Students had to demonstrating advanced competency in fluid power control, circuit design, and system integration. To achieve the Gold Certification, students were required to successfully pass the comprehensive Silver-level assessment, validating their proficiency in pneumatic components, troubleshooting methodologies, and industry-standard safety.

The Gladys Porter Early College HS Advanced Manufacturing Class had a successful Spring Camp with Texas Southmost College at their ITEC Advanced Manufacturing and Robotics Automation Lab.

Texas Southmost College to Host Spring 2026 Skills Camp with Porter High School Texas Southmost College’s Industrial Maintenance and Robotics Lab will welcome local high school students this spring for an immersive, hands-on learning experience aimed at building advanced technical skills and industry-recognized credentials.
