At this week’s Astronomy observation, Mr. Stith’s students enjoyed snacks and observed many different celestial objects, with a primary focus on learning the science behind the formation and evolution of stars. Throughout the session, the image seen here of the “Pillars of Creation” within the “Eagle Nebula” was captured, as students experienced the formation of new stars first hand! The wonders of deep space continue to be brought from many light-years away to Edmonson County Middle School!

It is only the first week of school & Mr. Stith’s science classes have already had an astronomy event where they used telescopes to discuss, photograph, and observe our Milky Way Galaxy, constellations & asterisms, the Perseids meteor shower, & types of stars, clusters, and nebulae! Students were able to enjoy some complimentary pizza while studying the beautiful night sky. 🌌 🔭 🍕 ✨
