We are excited to welcome Mr. José Martinez as the next Principal of Guadalupe Regional Middle School and the 7th principal in our school’s 24-year history!

Mr. Martinez brings more than 40 years of experience in education, serving students and families in both Catholic and public schools throughout the Rio Grande Valley. His career has included roles as teacher, Assistant Principal, Principal, and, most recently, Dean of Student Success at Saint Joseph Academy.

While new to the principal role at GRMS, he is already familiar with our community. For over a decade, he and his wife, Ms. Cindy Martinez, have supported GRMS as members of the Tilma Leadership Circle.

Mr. Martinez is excited to join our school family and looks forward to being present with our students each day, supporting them in their learning, growth, and faith journey.

We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Virginia Miller for her dedicated leadership and service to GRMS. We are deeply thankful for the many ways she has supported our students and strengthened our school community.

Please join us in giving a big, warm Bobcat welcome to Mr. Martinez!💙✨🐾

So close, we can feel it! 🙌

We’re just over $1,500 away from unlocking a $5,000 match—and every gift made by April 30 will be doubled.

That means your support goes twice as far in providing an all-scholarship, high-quality Catholic education for our students. Every dollar brings us closer to the opportunities, experiences, and support they deserve.

Don’t wait—help us close the gap and make your impact count.

Give today and double your difference.

With heavy hearts, we remember and give thanks for the life of Mrs. Lourdes Simmons, a cherished supporter and faithful friend of our mission.

For more than two decades, Mrs. Simmons and her husband, Neal, were steadfast champions of education, supporting our school since 2002 and helping create opportunities that have transformed the lives of countless students. Together, their generosity extended far beyond the classroom, including youth programs, children’s health, and all in the name of strengthening the fabric of the entire Brownsville community.

We are especially grateful for the opportunity to honor her and her husband for their continued support of our mission at our Annual Blessing this past fall, with a bench dedication in their honor, alongside her daughter Lourdes and beloved family members. Her presence, kindness, and enduring commitment to others left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Mrs. Simmons leaves behind a legacy of faith, compassion, and service that will continue to inspire generations to come. We give thanks for her life, her vision, and the profound difference she made.

Please keep her family and loved ones in your prayers.
May she rest in peace.
