Today is the feast of St. Lawrence of Brindisi, a 16th century Italian Capuchin priest and Doctor of the Church.

St. Lawrence was a well known preacher and head of the Capuchin Order- and once lead the Imperial Army into battle with the cross (which he later wore around his neck for the rest of his life) as his only weapon!

St. Lawrence is the patron saint of Brindisi.
