Principal Cardenas was enlightened to see a wonderful former Lincoln Park Student register her son and entrusting her with him at Gallegos ES. Mrs. Cardenas is very proud of Mommy Mia as she is continuing higher education to be a teacher.

Principal Cynthia Cardenas and Assistant Principal Antonio Ordaz Jr. welcomed our incredible Gallegos faculty and staff back for the 2026-2027 school year! We kicked off the new year with a delicious breakfast buffet from Doña Carmens. We are incredibly grateful to Dr. Ruben Gallegos and Mayor Cowen for sponsoring todays breakfast. Your generosity has helped make our staff feel appreciated, encouraged, and excited for the year ahead. A special thank you to our Superintendent Dr. Timothy Cuff, and Board Members Carlos Elizondo, Frank Ortiz, and Nereida Ruth Soto-Grantland for visiting and showing their support for our Bumblebee family. Thank you for helping us kick off another great year! Go Bumblebees!

Congressman Vicente Gonzalez welcomed our incredible faculty and staff for an exciting new year! He announced that he has secured $27,557,609 in federal funding for Neighbors in Need of Services, Inc. (Niños) Head Start. This significant investment provides early childhood education, nutrition, and health services to more than 2,000 children and families across Cameron and Willacy Countries, including families now being served at Dr. Ruben Gallegos Elementary School. We are grateful for Congressman Vicente Gonzalez 's continued commitment to expanding opportunities and investing in the well-being and future of our children and families.
