STXMT had the privilege of being apart of the Community Cleanup in District 3 hosted by City of Brownsville Commissioner Gustavo Deleon .

Aside from craft skills, here at STXMT, we teach all of our students the importance of community involvement. As many of our students receive scholarships through incredible organizations such as Greater Brownsville Incentives Corporation and Valley Initiative for Development and Advancement - VIDA we encourage them to “give back” by means of volunteering for such events and they did so with the utmost gratitude!

STX was happy to lend our muscle to Richard Hitchcox with RGV Fishing Area And Waterway Cleanups and we would not have been able to pull it off without the beast of a trailer sponsored to us by one of our very own alumni Abraham Camarillo.

It was a pleasure seeing so many community leaders and volunteers with boots on the ground. Including Brownsville’s very own Mayor John Cowen. Nurith Galonsky Brownsville City Commissioner At Large "B" Saint Joseph Academy Steve Guerra For Cameron County Judge The Brownsville Guy ZekeSilva and a big thanks to Brownsville PD for assuring the safety of all volunteers.
