Did you know that the first Saturday of every month is National Play Outside Day? At The Goddard School, playing outside is in our DNA.

Enjoy this day with your family by letting your child lead. Maybe they want to blow bubbles, make mudpies or go on a bug hunt! As long as you’re outside together, the fun will follow.

Check out some fun outdoor play activities that you can do with your preschooler on The Goddard School® website: https://bit.ly/4dYLUt1

Let’s boogie! 🪩✨ Our Goddard School friends brought the sparkle and smiles to Disco Day, dancing the day away in their brightest outfits! 🌈🕺💃

What’s your little one’s favorite song to dance to? 🎶✌️

Mark your calendars for 🪩✨ DISCO DAY! ✨🪩

Get ready to boogie! Children are invited to come dressed in their best Disco Day attire on Friday, October 2! Dancing at drop-off is especially encouraged.

No need to buy anything special—have fun with things you already have at home! Think bright colors, sparkles, tie-dye, funky patterns, sunglasses, headbands, wild socks, or anything shiny and groovy! 🌈🕺💃

We'll be dancing, moving, and having some groovy fun throughout the day. Dressing up is completely optional—everyone can join the party!

🪩 Peace, love & preschool! ✌️

Puzzles are a great way for you and your child to problem-solve together! Pull out all of your child’s puzzles and choose one to do each day. Talk about the images you see as each puzzle takes shape. For an added challenge, make your own puzzles by cutting magazine pages, old calendar photos, posters and more into five or ten pieces.

Every Goddard class has their own schedule, but here’s a peek of how a day can look:

9am: Morning meeting ☀️

11am: Outdoor Learning & Play 🍃
Climb, dig, build and explore the natural world.

12pm: Lunch! 🍎
Time to refuel and connect.

3pm: Learning Centers 🎨
Choice-driven play builds independence and imagination.

The thing about a Goddard preschooler is they’re going to be curious. Keep the questions coming 👏

Personally, we’d hire them as videographers 📹

Kindergarten readiness can show up in everyday moments, not just big milestones. A few signals to notice:

1. They’re building confidence to try things independently. Examples: walking into a room first, asking for help, or giving something new a try.

2. They’re starting to recognize the letters in their name, even if they’re not reading just yet.

3. They’re showing care and responsibility at home. This could include things like helping pack a bag, feeding a pet, putting away toys, or getting through part of their routine with a little more ease.

Every child grows at their own pace - and readiness looks different for every family. Their preschool teachers can be a great partner in noticing strengths, celebrating progress, and helping you think through what comes next.
