Brown Summit Middle School for Advanced Academics

It is almost time to celebrate our Brown Summit students and the wonderful things they have accomplished this school year. Please see the following information about each grade level's celebrations:

8th Grade Ceremony at 9AM on Friday, June 5th
End of Year Cookout (current students, families, and alumni are welcome) on Friday, June 5th between 11am-2pm

6th Grade Awards at 9am on Wednesday, June 10th
7th Grade Awards at 10:30am on Wednesday, June 10th

We still need volunteers for this Friday! Sign-up to help with our 8th grade reception and school-wide cookout.

The 8th grade promotion ceremony and school-wide cookout (which is open to all current students, family, and alumni) will be held on Friday, June 5th from 11:00-2:00.

Let’s all chip in and send in items!
6th grade- Individually wrapped desserts (nut free)
7th grade- Sides- Chips (Cacaci’s AA), Cuties (Shiver’s AA) and Apples (Bonner’s AA)
8th grade- 8 oz. bottles of water and Capri Suns
Donated items can be dropped off at the school, handed off to a PTSA representative in the car line on Thursday, June 4th or brought during the cookout set-up.

We also need volunteers! Sign-up if you can help on June 5th with the festivities.

We have a fantastic piece of Phoenix Pride to share with you this morning from retired BSMS Teacher and Quiz Bowl coach, Mrs. Beth Perdue:

The Brown Summit Quiz Bowl team had an amazing performance at the NAQT National tournament in Chicago this weekend. We made it to the playoffs on Sunday and finished 49th in the nation! This is the best finish of any quiz bowl team from BSMS. Considering that over 1,200 teams started on this journey back in August, I couldn’t be more proud to be their coach! Well done team!

We will be postponing the next general PTSA meeting originally scheduled for Tuesday, May 19th.

We are still in need of a PTSA President and Vice President for the 2026-2027 BSMS PTSA board.
