💜 October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month 💜
October is a time to raise awareness, support survivors, and remind our community that everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and valued.
Thursday, October 15, is National Wear Purple Day, also known as Purple Thursday! We invite BFCC staff and students to wear purple to show support for survivors of domestic violence. Purple represents courage, strength, survival, and hope. By wearing purple, we can help break the silence, raise awareness, and remind survivors that they are not alone.
Domestic violence can affect anyone. No one deserves to experience abuse, fear, or control. Every person deserves to feel safe, respected, and loved. Sometimes, wearing purple is a small gesture that opens the door to an important conversation or encourages someone to seek support.
💜 Recognize. Report. Prevent. Together, we can help create a safer, more compassionate campus community.
