‼️Attention Students and Community members!!
We have officially completed sending out the approval and/or Denial letters, please check your email/mail‼️
(Sending this letter via email provides us with a helpful tracking record. Additionally, it serves as excellent practice for professional communication, as the majority of universities and community colleges require students to use email for all school-related matters. For anyone wondering why we decided to do it this way this year, as mail takes a little longer then an email.)

Good Morning Students & Community members,
We would just like to jump on here to let any student that applied for BHE know to keep an eye out on your email (that was provided on the application when you first turned in the higher ed app) as we will be using today and the beginning of next week to send out the denial/ approval letters to the students. any students letters that don't get delivered in the email step will be then be mailed in the USPS.
This gives us a great way to track the letter system as we have had nearly 260 applicants this year.

Good afternoon Community members and students. We had a little over 280 students turn in the application for the Higher Ed grant. We are giving the students that have yet to complete their applications until July 22nd to turn in any and all missing paperwork needed to be considered complete and the appeal letter will need to accompany these documents.
We are out for the office the following days 07/09-07/10-and 07/13 for North American Indian Days celebration. We will be unavailable to answer any questions during this time.

To the locals have a wonderful NAID and everyone have a great weekend.

We understand that unexpected challenges can arise, and we want to ensure our current students have the resources they need to succeed. Blackfeet Community College Students applying for Higher Ed, please be aware the last day to get an FNA, Letter of acceptance or a Transcripts request turned into them will be no later than June 26, 2026 at 3:00 pm.
They are closed the 29th the last day we will be in office before the deadline.

Browning Public Schools HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS!
WE HAVE RECEIVED THE TRANSCRIPTS. This is part of the second deadline and is required to have a completed application

Heart Butte students we have received yours in the mail. Vailer we have also received a few but if we are missing any please call and check. Cutbank students we have also only received a couple.

JUNE 30th, 2026 Deadline!!!! 20 day left in the deadline and 12 of those days we will be in office to help in anyway we can.

‼️ATTENTION ‼️University of Montana STUDENTS‼️ applying for the Blackfeet Higher Education grant‼️‼️

We want you you all to be aware of the new process U of M wants the students to be aware of.
As you know we try to keep all of our applicants up to date on changes that occur involving turning in items need to be considered complete. The University of Montana no longer has a NATIVE AMERICAN COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST, meaning for the students attending or planning on attending U of M while applying for the Higher Ed grant you will need to do the following:
1. Email All FNA request to [email protected]
2. Mention Mary Opitz name when you email
3. Mention the tribe in which you are needing it for. (Blackfeet in our case)
4. Attach the blank FNA (besides the top portion needed to be filled out by you) to the email.

We apologize for the late notice, as we were just made aware of this today with less than 25 days left of our deadline. So please get them in ASAP.

FYI-Submit official college transcripts, if you previously attended college. Also, if you are currently a student in college, submit an Official Transcript, which includes Spring Term of current academic year. BHEP will not accept fax copies of official transcripts. We do accept National Clearing House, or Parchment, and they must be emailed directly to [email protected] (Due June 30).
