I was today, helping with a little spruce up ✨️
I'm a roll-up-my-sleeves kinda coach for Lifestyle Directors, gotta match their energy, so today we made changes that would encourage residents to work independently in this space.

We first had to ask: what usually happens here?

Once we knew that, it was easy to remove whatever didn't match those purposes!

🥳Everyone comes here to sign birthday cards for their neighbors, so we made that a focal point. 🥳

Visually, everything on the table tells you exactly what it's for and what you're supposed to do here.

It also doesn't have any extra space, so it's more likely to stay uncluttered.

Simplify is the secret word of the day! To set an inviting space for people experiencing a form of dementia, reduce the visual noise. Make sure the space has only what it needs for getting started.
