Fingerprints are required with all magazine license applications and with all explosive license applications. We now have a digital fingerprint and can take fingerprints at the end of class, or anytime during the week. We can also take the machine with us to do prints while we are in the road taking classes.

Make Sure you are using the most current Application when applying for a Louisiana Explosive License. As of right now the application is dated 6-22-2022

Breaux Bridge office is no longer taking Explosive License pictures. They have moved to Troop I. 121 East Pont Des Mouton. Lafayette, LA 70507
They only take pictures at this location the 3rd Tuesday of the month.

*New Application 2-11-2022
*2 Rap Sheets are now required
*2 FBI Fingerprint Cards are now required
* A check for 39.25 is required to process those cards

New for Louisiana Explosive License Applications..... You must now submit a fingerprint card and a additional check for each application.... See the email from LSP Below.

Please note that in order to remain in compliance with Federal Regulations, the Louisiana State Police Emergency Services Unit will require that all applications for explosives licenses be accompanied by a completed Federal Bureau of Investigation applicant fingerprint card. These fingerprint cards can obtained at your local law enforcement office or at Louisiana State Police Headquarters building.

In addition to the submission of the card, a check made payable to Department of Public Safety for $39.25 will be required to process the card’s information. For more information please contact the Louisiana State Police Emergency Services Unit at [email protected] or (225) 925-6113 Option 3.
