Dear Students and Parents,
We are very excited to be able to share that the City of Westminster has decided to reopen Taekwondo-Do classes at this time, following the easing of restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to observe the safety regulations currently in place, we are limiting our class sizes, and are currently only accepting students aged 8 and older.
Masks covering the nose and mouth must be worn at all times while in the building and working out, and 6 foot social distancing rules must also be observed. We have updated all of our training activities with these restrictions in mind. Personal items must be kept distanced as well, and students must bring and label their own water bottles, as drinking fountains are currently unavailable.
All classes are being held in the Community Room at West View Recreation Center, located at: 10747 W 108th Ave, Broomfield, CO 80021. Classes are Monday/Thursday for high red belts and above, and Tues/Wed for white up to red.
If you have questions regarding the safety regulations in place, class schedules, or any other concerns that you might have, please feel free to reach out via Facebook chat, and we will respond to you as quickly as we can.
To register for our classes, you can go to the City of Westminster WebTrac page at this link: https://prl-web.ci.westminster.co.us/wbwsc/webtrac.wsc/search.html?Action=Start&SubAction=&type=Tae+Kwon+Do&age=&location=WV&keyword=&keywordoption=Match+One&primarycode=&showwithavailable=yes&subtype=&grade=&gender=&beginmonth=2&beginyear=2021&daysofweek=&sort=ActivityNumber&spotsavailable=&display=Listing&module=AR&multiselectlist_value=

Dear students and parents,
Unfortunately, due to the continuing concern of COVID-19, City of Westminster has made the difficult decision to cancel all classes through the end of May, 2020. Although we are saddened at the prospect of putting classes on hold for so long, we stand in complete agreement with the City of Westminster on this decision.
Updates on the status of classes can be found on the heading at the top of the of the City of Westminster TaeKwon-Do program page here:
https://www.cityofwestminster.us/ParksRecreation/ProgramsClasses/YouthTeen/TaekWon-Do
If you have any questions, please reach out to Ms. Harness at [email protected], or call 303-815-0967.
And finally, a letter from Grand Master Hups on this extended closure:
To all of the Westminster TaeKwon-Do Brothers and Sisters,
I wanted to reach out to every student and convey how sad I am that I can’t teach all of you TaeKwon-Do right now. I miss the camaraderie and the training that is such a big part of our classes, and I know you do too.
In the 46 years of my TaeKwon-Do career, I have never experienced anything like this. Something big enough to keep us from the joy of working out together. However, the main thing I have learned over the years is that TaeKwon-Do Brothers and Sisters never give up—no matter what the odds. The founder of TaeKwon-Do, General Choi, and my instructor, Grand Master Sereff, always emphasized the importance of training and even when it seems like there Is no way to win to find a way.
In this belief, I want you to listen to what is being recommended by the local, state, and federal government and practice those recommendations. Use them to protect yourself and others.
Keep practicing your TaeKwon-Do skills safely. Remembering what you have learned will be important, so that each of you are ready when classes start back up. We will get through this.
The General wrote in his encyclopedia that “a good student can train anywhere, anytime. That is the secret to being a good student.” I have and always will follow those words of wisdom; they have never led me astray.
I wish you all of the best and look forward to seeing every single one of you back in class!!
All of the best,
Grandmaster Kent Hups
