The Gator Pride marching band has qualified to compete in the state marching band contest for the last five years in a row! This year they placed 5th! The banners from CBA and RMPA have been hung up in the music room for all to see. Now we just need to find the RMPA banner from 2024!

Congratulations
to the Gator Pride Marching Band and Color Guard for their fine performance at the Friendship Cup competition at Englewood High School. The Friendship Cup is based on band size and not school size like CBA competitions. Gator Pride was one of ten bands competing in Class AA. In music performance, Widefield and Castle View tied for first. Gator Pride was on .15 behind those schools and placed third in music performance. In visual performance, Widefield placed first as announced and Gator Pride was second by only .55 . The general effect caption was won by Widefield, and again Gator Pride placed second. Overall Gator Pride placed second out of the ten bands with a score of 63.55. The Friendship Cup competition also gives out sweepstakes awards to the three highest scoring bands regardless of class. Gator Pride placed second in the sweepstakes award as well. The score that Gator Pride received this year is about 11 points higher than the score they received last year at this same competition.
The next competition for the Gator Pride marching band will be Saturday, October first at Echo Park Stadium in Parker. Last year this competition had 23 bands participate in prelims and Gator Pride placed 7th in prelims. The overall top 12 bands came back in the evening for a finals competition and Gator Pride placed 10th in the finals last year.
