K'tonton Early Learning Center This is a joint program of Federation Early Learning Services and Congregation Beth El-Ner Tamid. and a variety of special events (e.g.

The K’tonton Center has earned a Four Star rating (the highest attainable level) through the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Keystone Stars Quality Initiative Program which upholds the highest standards in the state. A nationally recognized secular curriculum is complemented by a Jewish curriculum that integrates the synagogue’s rabbi and a Hebrew Specialist. K’tonton provides part or full time options for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. The program offers many specialists including Hebrew enrichment , karate, kinetics, etc. Grandparents’ Day, the Shofar Factory, etc.) A summer camp program open to the community includes sports, water play and specialists in Israeli dance, yoga, music, etc. Field trips including visits to the Upper Darby Summer Stage and the Elmwood Park Zoo enrich the program. Scholarships and state subsidy are available for families that meet the eligibility requirements.

🍂🎨 Our young learners brought the fall season to life!

Through a combination of agriculture and arts & crafts, the children worked together to create a fall diorama featuring colorful leaves covering the ground and their own creative ideas throughout.

This hands-on experience gave them opportunities to collaborate, make decisions, solve problems, strengthen fine motor skills, and express themselves creatively—all essential parts of early childhood development.

By learning, creating, and working together, our young learners are building the skills and confidence they need to become tomorrow’s leaders. 🍁💜

Our young learners put their thinking skills to work as they explored patterns and figured out which shapes belonged in their matching spaces.

These hands-on brain teasers strengthened problem-solving, spatial reasoning, focus, and decision-making. Skills like these give children a strong foundation for learning, helping them become curious thinkers who can approach challenges with confidence as they grow.

What happens when young minds are given the chance to explore space? They build their own rocket ships! Through hands-on STEM activities, our children explored spacecraft and the wonders of space while using imagination and creativity to think like scientists. 🚀

Wishing all who are observing a meaningful and reflective Yom Kippur. 🕯️

Yom Kippur, a Jewish holy day known as the Day of Atonement, is a time for prayer, reflection, seeking forgiveness, and thinking about how we treat one another. These ideas can resonate at every age, as children learn to understand others’ feelings, work through disagreements, make amends, and recognize that each day brings a new opportunity to make a kind choice.

At FELS, kindness, empathy, responsibility, and community are part of children’s everyday learning. Whether or not your family observes Yom Kippur, these are values we can all carry with us.

May this day bring peace, healing, and renewed hope to all who observe.

Sometimes, kindness begins with something as simple as rolling a ball to a friend. ❤️

As our young toddlers learn to share, take turns, and notice one another, they are building the earliest foundations of empathy and caring. These small moments beautifully reflect the spirit of Yom Kippur: reflecting on how we treat others and choosing kindness each day.
