October is Emotional Wellness Month, a good time for our nursing students and graduates to check in with themselves and each other💙

Throughout the month, we’ll be sharing simple tips to help manage stress, build healthy coping habits, and support emotional well-being.

This week’s tip: Try journaling one positive moment from each class or clinical day. Celebrating small wins can help reduce stress, build resilience, and remind you of the progress you’re making as you prepare for a career in nursing.

Caring for others is at the heart of both nursing and firefighting, and nurse educator Tina Menginie knows that firsthand!

In addition to teaching future nurses, Tina has been a volunteer firefighter with the Darby Township Volunteer Fire Company for more than 30 years and will be promoted to captain in January. With Fire Prevention Week underway, we’re proud to recognize Tina for the many ways she serves her students and her community. For Tina, giving back to the community is one of the most rewarding parts of serving others.

We were honored to volunteer with the Miracle League of Delaware County and have our students serve as Miracle League Buddies, supporting athletes of all abilities. âš¾

The Miracle League of Delaware County provides children and adults with disabilities with the opportunity to experience the joy of playing baseball. Through the Buddy Program, each athlete was paired with a volunteer who offered support, encouragement, and friendship throughout the game.

Thank you to our students and the members of the Delaware County Intermediate Unit community who volunteered their time, and to the Miracle League of Delaware County for the opportunity to support such a meaningful program.
