On this day in 1865, federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, declaring freedom for the last enslaved Americans - more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued.

Today, we honor this significant moment in our nation’s history and recognize the progress that has been made. As we commemorate Juneteenth, we continue striving toward equality, justice, and unity for all.

Thursday was an unforgettable evening celebrating growth, memories, and all the moments that brought our 8th-grade students to this milestone!

At the Journey Continues Ceremony, we honored the Class of 2030 as they were surrounded by the people who’ve supported them every step of the way. With excitement and confidence, they now look ahead to the start of their high school journey, and we can’t wait to see where this next chapter takes them! 🎓

Our final Chapel of the year, Moving Up Chapel, was a powerful reflection on this year’s theme, Transformed. ✨

In a special tradition, each grade “moved up” to their new section of the chapel for the 2026–27 school year, marking growth, change, and all that this year has shaped in our students.

It was a meaningful moment of reflection, celebration, and anticipation for what’s ahead!

Today also marked our final day of classes before quarterly assessments. We wish all of our students the best of luck as they review, prepare, and finish the year strong!

✨ Monday Momentum with Mr. Buck featuring a special guest, Mrs. Raba. ✨

As she wraps up her 9th year at LuHi and prepares for a new principal role in California, we are so grateful for all she has poured into our community. From classroom renovations to a new block schedule and strategic planning, her impact has transformed the LuHi experience.

She shared she’s most proud of the growth in our student experience and the meaningful changes across campus. Looking ahead, her hope is in the people of LuHi and the next generation of the Strategic Plan.

What she’ll carry with her is our core value of Family, a place where students are truly seen and known.

Thank you, Mrs. Raba, for your leadership and heart. Wishing you and your family all the best in this next chapter. You will always be part of the LuHi family!

Our Middle School Mathletes participated in a year-long challenge in which they answered challenging math questions over a series of 5 tests. 🧠✏️

Students from all over the world participate in this event 🌍. Tristan and Jaden received a patch for their ranking among all students. Joseph received a medal for being the highest scorer among LuHi participants 🏅

Tristan, Jaden, and Joseph were recently selected to take part in the Institute of Creative Problem Solving run through Stony Brook—only the most elite students are selected. Selection into the Institute means the student is in the top 0.1% of all Long Island students .📊👏

Adiah received a certificate for her performance in the AMC 8 Contest, which is also given to top students worldwide. She placed in the top quarter of all participants worldwide! 🌟

Way to go! 🎉
