Currently the Brookville Center operates 12-month education and therapeutic programs at six locations throughout Nassau County for children with developmental delays, developmental disabilities and autism, as well as typically developing children in the preschool programs. The Brookville Center’s services include: early intervention, child care, early childhood education, integrated preschool prog

rams for children with and without developmental disabilities, an autism program, and a Saturday recreation program. The curriculum incorporates the New York State Learning Standards, and employs the contemporary inclusion educational model in most aspects of its programs. The Brookville Center for Children’s Services is the leading provider of services for children with intellectual and other developmental disabilities on Long Island.

Getting a child ready for the new school year? 🎒✏️ Citizens Options Unlimited looks forward to the 5th Annual Back-to-School Backpack & School Supplies Giveaway, hosted by Rep. Andrew Garbarino, Assemblyman Jarett Gandolfo, Emergency Services SCPD, NYPD Hockey Club, Suffolk County Police Department, and the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office. The event will be held Friday, Aug. 28, 11a.m.-1 p.m. at the Bay Shore Fire Department, 195 5th Ave., Bay Shore, Ny.

Say hello to the Citizens team and a number of community partners, while picking up free backpacks and school supplies.

As the Summer Session came to a close, Malorie Edme, President of the Barbara C Wilson Preschool Parents Association and Vice President Erin Sachs, met with the school’s administrative team to share ideas for a new school year filled with opportunities for student and families to connect, learn, and have fun together.

“I’m very passionate about children and them receiving all the opportunities they can have,” Malorie said, whose child, Randy, has been attending the school for two years. “We found so much joy in coming up with ideas and little activities for the kids.”

Summer break from the Children’s Education Center brings a change of routine for the young people living at the Children’s Residential Program (CRP) and this year, staff have packed the time with new experiences built around what each person enjoys. Summer trips included the New York Aquarium in Coney Island, a food truck rodeo, the Queens County Farm Museum, a concert at the Jones Beach Bandshell, and so much more.

“This year, we’re trying to do more than usual during the summer,” said Cassie Bradshaw, Director of the CRP.

All summer long at the Children's Education Center, we've been enjoying Summer Events on Fridays, concluding with a Luau-Themed Block Party! 🌴

Everyone enjoyed playing games, making crafts, trying new snacks, and taking photos with their lei necklaces 💮

Dan the Bubble Man stopped by Round Hill Rd preschool to delight students and teachers alike.
Summertime activities are always more fun at BCCS.

Last week, students enjoyed an exciting day filled with music, magic, and hundreds of shiny bubbles. The event was full of activities that got students up on their feet to sing, dance, and pop bubbles large and small.

Special thanks to Bubble Show Plus for brightening up our school day.
