Here’s a little glimpse of Mr. George working with one of our small math groups!

At Riverside, we believe that smaller class sizes make a BIG difference in how children learn.

Small-group instruction allows us to meet scholars where they are academically, provide individualized support, and give each child the time and attention they deserve. It means more opportunities to ask questions, work through challenges, build confidence, and truly master a skill before moving on.

We aren’t focused on keeping everyone at the same pace. We’re focused on helping every child grow at THEIR pace.

And that’s just one of the many things that makes the Riverside difference! 💚🦅

🚒🔥 FIRE SAFETY FUN AT RIVERSIDE! 🔥🚒

A HUGE thank you to New Trenton Volunteer Fire Dept., Chief Don Maucher, for spending time with our scholars in honor of Fire Safety Month!

Our Eagles learned all about fire safety, including evacuation plans, emergency numbers, and what to do if their home catches fire or their clothing catches on fire.

But the learning didn’t stop there! 🚒

We headed outside to explore the fire truck, climb inside, and watch how firefighters use water to put out fires. The best part? Every scholar even had the opportunity to practice putting out a fire right in our parking lot! 🔥💦

These are the kinds of hands-on, real-world learning experiences that we LOVE bringing to Riverside!

A special thank you to Chief Maucher and everyone who helped make this experience possible. We are so grateful for our local first responders who not only work to keep our community safe but also take the time to educate the next generation! ❤️🚒

Our scholars got their hands dirty with Ms. Elizabeth with Purdue Extension Franklin County as they learned all about composting and how we can turn everyday scraps into something good for the earth!

The best part? Each scholar got to make their very own compost bin to take home and put their new knowledge to work! ♻️🌿

We love giving our Eagles opportunities to learn through hands-on experiences and discover ways they can make a difference in the world around them.

💚 A LITTLE SHOUTOUT TO OUR INCREDIBLE RIVERSIDE STAFF! 🦅

This has been a BUSY season at Riverside Academy. Between growing our school, navigating new opportunities, and all of the behind-the-scenes work that comes with it, we have all found ourselves wearing a few extra hats lately.

For me personally, that has meant spending more time than I would like tucked away in my office, working on the administrative side of things rather than being out in our learning space with our scholars.

And you know what? My staff hasn’t missed a beat. 💚

They’ve stepped up. They’ve come in early, stayed late, taken on extra responsibilities, and gone far beyond what’s written in their job descriptions. They’ve filled gaps, helped one another, and continued showing up for our scholars with the same love, patience, and dedication that makes Riverside so special.

And they’ve done it all without being asked twice.

Building a school from the ground up isn’t easy. There isn’t always a perfect system in place, and sometimes we’re figuring things out as we go. But every single day, we’re getting a little better, a little stronger, and a little closer to becoming that well-oiled machine we’re working so hard to build.

I may have had the vision for Riverside, but it takes an incredible team to bring that vision to life.

To my staff: I see you. I see the extra hours, the little things that nobody else notices, the sacrifices, and the love you pour into our kids each and every day.

I know I don’t say it nearly enough, but I am SO incredibly thankful for each of you.Riverside wouldn’t be what it is without you, and I certainly couldn’t do this without you.

Thank you for believing in this little school and loving these kids as much as I do. 💚🦅

🚨MEDALLION ALERT! MEDALLION ALERT! 🚨

Today was another HUGE Medallion Ceremony at Riverside Academy, and we have SO much to celebrate!

💚Every single Eagle earned their Feelings & Emotions Medallion! Our scholars have been learning how to identify and understand their emotions, express their feelings in healthy ways, and practice self-regulation when those BIG feelings come along!

🙏 Our faith is growing stronger, too!

As we continue to weave faith, scripture, and prayer into our everyday learning, our Eagles have been working hard to memorize God’s Word and prayers!

✨ 11 Eagles earned the Old Sarum Prayer Medallion

✨ 2 Eagles earned The Lord’s Prayer Medallion

✨ 3 Eagles earned the John 3:16 Medallion

✨ 1 Eagle earned the Isaiah 40:31 Medallion

Each of these medallions was earned by independently reciting the scripture or prayer BY HEART! ❤️

🇺🇸 2 Eagles earned their Pledge of Allegiance Medallion!

We also celebrated scholars earning their Early Reading Explorer, Number Sense, Word Builder, Phonics Pathfinder, Fluent Flyer,and Personal Information Medallions!🥇

At Riverside, our medallions celebrate more than mastering skills. They represent hard work, perseverance, and faith!

Just as Isaiah 40:31 reminds us to find strength in the Lord and rise up on wings like eagles, we encourage our scholars to keep growing, even through challenges.

We’re not just celebrating what our Eagles are learning, but who they are becoming. And watching them spread their wings is something pretty special! 🦅💚

Learning about BIG feelings!

We had a very special guest at Riverside Academy today! Shay Allen, a behavioral therapist, joined our scholars as they worked toward their Feelings & Emotions Medallion! 🏅

Together, they talked about the many different feelings we experience, how to recognize those emotions, and healthy ways to express and manage them. We even watched Inside Out to help bring everything they learned together! 🧠💭

These are such important life skills for our scholars to begin developing at a young age, and we are so thankful for opportunities to learn from people who work with these skills every day.

A huge thank you to Shay for sharing her time and knowledge with our Riverside family! 💛

We LOVE when members of our community come through our doors to share their gifts, talents, careers, and knowledge with our scholars. It truly takes a village to raise and educate children, and we are so grateful for ours! 🦅
