Today we welcomed back the Senior Class of 2026 to Winding Waters K-8 for our senior walk through the halls!

It was such a special moment watching our former students return, greeted with cheers, smiles, and memories from the place where so much of their journey began. We are incredibly proud of all they have accomplished and the amazing young adults they have become.

As they prepare for graduation and the next chapter ahead, we wish each and every one of them the very best of luck. Keep chasing your dreams and remember—you will always be a Yellow Jacket 🐝

Today our band and chorus did a fantastic job at Universal Studio's workshop “SoundStage: The Art of Foley". Students prepared music that was synced with a movie scene, and learned about diverse careers that music can offer in the film industry.

Both the band and chorus nailed their recordings on the first try, and the production team was impressed with how kind and engaged our students were throughout the workshop.

Bravo Yellow Jackets! We are proud of everything you accomplished this year. We can't wait to see what's next!

On Tuesday we celebrated the GRAND OPENING of the Hornets Ability Hub "Too” at the Yellow Jacket’s Café. 🐝🎉☕

Hornets Ability Hub "Too" was made possible through a classroom grant from the Hernando County Education Foundation to support WWK8 Middle School students and create meaningful real-world learning opportunities. This is an exciting partnership, bringing together the Weeki Wachee High School ESE students and WWK8 Middle School ESE students in a supportive café environment where students can build confidence, independence, and employability skills.

The Hornets' Ability Hub students serve as experienced peer mentors while working alongside middle school students as café employees. With the support of job development staff, students receive hands-on instruction in employability skills, customer service, teamwork, communication, and job readiness. We are creating job opportunities that empower students to learn, grow, and succeed — one cup at a time! ☕✨
