Friday co-op looked a little different this week.

We packed up the girls and headed to Weeki Wachee Springs for our first field trip of the season.

Wildlife show, mermaids, lunch in the sun, and way too much playground time. Exactly the kind of day that reminds you why we do this.

This is what the Friday nature co-op is about. Real places. Real wonder. Learning that doesn’t feel like learning because the girls are too busy being alive in it.

Hernando County has some of the most beautiful natural spaces in Florida and we are going to use all of them.

Hope Grove Girls Circle meets Monday, Wednesday 9-12pm, and Co-Op is Friday 10-12pm. We have 2 spots open for Mon/Wed and more spots for Co-Op Fridays, if your girl needs a place like this.

Hope Grove Girls Circle has been one of the quietest things I’ve built. And one of the most important.

We meet Monday and Wednesday in Hernando County. Girls. Circles. Real conversation. SEL that actually goes somewhere because it’s not tied to a grade or a standard or a behavior chart.

On Fridays we take it outside to our co-op. Nature, movement, and the kind of learning that happens when you stop sitting still and start paying attention to the world around you.

I started this because the girls in my community needed a place that was theirs. Not a program. Not a curriculum. A circle.

We currently have 2 spots open.
If you have a daughter, a niece, a neighbor girl who needs more than what traditional school is offering her right now, this is for her.

For anyone in the education space:

If you run a microschool, a tutoring program, a homeschool co-op, or any kind of education service, there's a good chance ESA scholarship families in your state would love to work with you.

The catch? You have to be an approved vendor or provider first.

I help education providers navigate that process, figuring out which states make sense, what the approval requires, and how to get it done without it taking over your whole calendar.

If you know someone this could help, feel free to share. And if it's you, I have a free 15-minute strategy call here and linked in my profile. 💛

I closed Hope Grove Microschool after 4 years — and honestly, it was the right call.

We moved to the country. I bought a 1910 cottage. And now I host a small hybrid homeschool circle for girls right here at home...6 girls, ages 5–12, Monday and Wednesday mornings 9–12.

It's quieter. More intentional. And it's mine in a way that feels really good.

I also consult with founders and education entrepreneurs through HeatherMiniello.com — helping them get their backend systems in place so they can grow without the chaos.

Sometimes the best thing you can build is a smaller, better version of what you had.

Anyone else out there who intentionally scaled DOWN and found it was actually the upgrade? 💛

Four years. DOE registered. Real families. Real learning.

Running Hope Grove Microschool taught me more about education than I ever expected, including how the funding side of school choice actually works for providers, not just families.

Now I help edtech companies and microschool operators get approved as ESA vendors nationwide so the families in their communities can actually use their scholarship dollars with them.

If you know someone building a microschool or running an education program and they've been wondering how ESA funding works on the provider side, feel free to share this or send them my way. 💛 You can join the movement and book with me here: heatherminiello.com

The economy would collapse in weeks if parents stopped sending their kids to school.

People ask me, “If the school system collapses, how will adults work?”

That question reveals the truth.

Schools are the childcare arm of capitalism, not centers of learning.

The system exists because adults are trapped.

Schools don’t primarily serve children.
They serve the economy.
They provide mass childcare so adults can work longer, cheaper, and more obediently.

Collapse doesn’t look like chaos.
It looks like withdrawal.

Families opting out.
Teachers leaving.
Work becoming remote, shared, part-time, and human again.

Adults don’t stop earning.
They stop selling 40+ hours of their lives to systems that require their children to suffer for productivity.

The future isn’t no work.
It’s different work.

Smaller incomes.
Multiple streams.
Shared care.
Community over corporations.

Systems don’t fall when people fight them.
They fall when people no longer need them.

That future is already here.
It’s just not sponsored.

🌿 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐬’ 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 + 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐁𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐇𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞

Today we pause to honor the original caretakers of this land, the 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐬 whose wisdom, courage, and deep relationship with the Earth continue to guide us forward.

Here in Brooksville, we recognize the 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐢 (𝐓𝐜𝐮𝐤𝐨 𝐭𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢) community, a 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐞 𝐯𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐞 that once thrived in this region and became part of the 𝐒𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞. Their story reminds us that learning and living in balance with nature is sacred work.

As 𝐇𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞 grows into a larger 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐇𝐮𝐛, we are deepening our commitment to 𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭, and 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. Our vision is to create a space where families learn through 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞, 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲, honoring the wisdom of those who came before us.

This next chapter is about 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠, blending 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐠𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, and 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 into a new model that roots children in belonging and purpose.

With gratitude to the 𝐒𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐬, whose history grounds us, and to all 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 whose traditions continue to shape and sustain life on this land.

May we 𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐲, 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲, and 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫.

If this vision speaks to you, we invite you to be part of the journey.
Whether you are a parent, educator, creative, farmer, or kindred spirit who believes in learning through connection and care for the land, we would love to connect.

Join us as we build the Hope Grove Healing Homestead and Worldschool Hub: a living, learning community for families who dream of a gentler, more grounded way to grow.

Note to Current/Prospective Families: Hope Grove is growing, not changing.
Our beloved girls’ and boys’ pods will continue as always, and now we’re part of something even bigger: a local co-op community that meets Fridays and a long-term vision to grow our own Healing Homestead and Worldschool Hub here in Brooksville.

We’re expanding our roots while keeping our heart the same. 💛

We had the best time at our amazing new co-op! We have kids ages 4-12yrs. Teens are welcome!

The B.A.D. Mom’s Co-op of Hernando County was founded for those looking for a secular/inclusive and laid back co-op! We teach 2 classes and have lunch together weekly.

One of the many amazing benefits of joining our program is a Friday co-op with these amazing humans!

The Co-op is on a waitlist now, but if you join Hope Grove’s drop off hybrid homeschool program (Mon/Wed girls or Tues/Thurs boys 9-1pm), you are welcomed into the Friday co-op too! We meet in the park 3 Fridays a month and have a field trip 1 Friday/month. We have about 30 kids and growing!
