Bonus treat-- we will also be hosting a uniform swap! Families can bring uniforms their child has outgrown and take home new ones. If you are donating uniforms, they should be clean and in good condition. 👕

Today, we commemorate Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, by closing our schools and offices.

Juneteenth holds deep significance as it marks the liberation of all enslaved individuals in America and their descendants. On this day in 1865, news of the Emancipation Proclamation finally reached enslaved communities in Galveston, Texas, almost two years after their freedom was officially declared.

In the spirit of Lifelong Learning, we honor Juneteenth and stand with our community by sharing the Juneteenth flag. This flag, adorned with red, white, and blue, mirrors the American flag's colors, symbolizing that all those who were once enslaved and their descendants are now recognized as American citizens by law.
