Congratulations to our Upper School Theater students for their powerful production of “The Hope Project”! Throughout the fall, students virtually interviewed doctors, teachers, activists, and more about the major events of 2020 through November 2nd, from COVID-19 to Black Lives Matter to the presidential election. Working with playwright, activist, and actor Daniel K. Isaac (Showtime’s “Billions”) to write the script, each student then brought to life the real life interviewees, taking the audience on a journey across America on the path from fear to hope during these tumultuous times. Find the link to the full show on our BC page.
Congratulations to the cast and crew of “The Hope Project”: Rowan D. ‘21, Amna T. ‘22, Emily S. ‘22, Lee B. ‘22, Oscar T. ‘22, Ella B. ‘23, Gia F.-C. ‘23, Arianna H. ‘24, Madden N. ‘24, Sam H. ‘24, Sarah C. ‘24, Pete S. ‘23, and Jacob B. ‘23.

5th grade artists created large scale pastels while thinking about the role that art plays in the interaction between humans and wildlife. Student works were inspired by National Geographic Photographer Joel Sartore’s Photo Ark collection and mission. Check out these stunning works in progress!

Before spring break, 5th grade artists were working hard to prepare for the annual Egyptian Tomb installation. Artist historians were in the midst of developing a research driven paragraph in humanities, an artwork inspired by an ancient artifact in Visual Arts and a user friendly website to showcase their work in Digital Essentials. Student investigations in Humanities and Visual Arts were inspired by Akhenaten's tomb and concepts such as social hierarchy, gender and communication. While this rich, interdisciplinary tradition has been put on hold, let us celebrate the stunning imagery and textures found in our artists' works in progress.
