5 facilitated cohort meeting, Thursdays 7 – 9 pm
Unlimited open studio sessions throughout the duration of the program
October 8th - December 3rd.

Each monthly cohort meeting includes:
Creative and personal check-ins

Fabric Marbling Family Workshop on Satuday, September 12th, 3-6pm

Discover the art of fabric marbling by learning the foundational techniques of creating colorful, one-of-a-kind surface designs. Participants will prepare a marbling bath, explore traditional patterns, and experiment with their own compositions to create a collection of uniquely marbled textiles and papers.

September workshop series: fabric dyeing with artist,

Family Program: Fabric Marbling
Saturday September 12th, 3-6 pm
Discover the art of fabric marbling by learning the foundational techniques of creating colorful, one-of-a-kind surface designs. Participants will prepare a marbling bath, explore traditional patterns, and experiment with their own compositions to create a collection of uniquely marbled textiles and papers.

Shibori Dyeing
Thursday September 24th, 7-9pm
Explore the art of shibori, a traditional Japanese resist-dyeing technique that uses folding, binding, and clamping to create beautiful indigo patterns on fabric. Through hands-on experimentation, you’ll learn foundational techniques, discover the rich history of shibori, and leave with a piece of your own hand-dyed textiles.

Bundle Dyeing
Saturday September 26th, 3-6pm
Learn the fundamentals of natural dyeing by transforming plants into vibrant colors for textiles. In this hands-on workshop, participants will explore sustainable dye practices and create beautifully patterned fabric using the bundle dyeing technique with flowers, leaves, and roots.

The Art Educator Studio Cohort is a four month professional learning community designed specifically for art educators seeking to reconnect with and sustain their own creative practices.

Inspired by programs such as the Brooklyn Museum’s Art Exchange and guided in part by the reflective principles of Julia Cameron’s The Artist’s Way, the residency provides educators with dedicated studio time, peer dialogue, creative accountability, and sustainable strategies for maintaining artistic practice during the school year.

Our new teen observational drawing class starts this September! Working from the still life and live models, this course is a unique opportunity for young artists to strengthen the essential skills necessary for realistic drawing.

Part 1: Form and Still Life
In this five-session studio course, students will strengthen their understanding of line, value, shape, and form while learning to create the illusion of three dimensions in graphite. The course culminates in a three-object still life drawn from direct observation.

Part 2: Figure and Gesture
Part 2 builds on the foundational skills developed in Part 1, applying line, value, shape, and form to the study of the human figure. Students will learn gesture drawing, proportion, structure, and observational techniques to create dynamic, three-dimensional figure drawings from reference and life. Students enrolling in Part 2 should feel confident drawing three-dimensional forms and working from observation.
