In this hands-on family workshop, participants will explore the fundamentals of relief printmaking while creating a personalized family stationery set. Families will learn simple stamping and printing techniques, carve their own designs, and experiment with everyday materials like vegetables and found objects to make unique prints. A selection of pre-carved blocks will also be available, allowing participants to combine personal designs with existing imagery and explore the possibilities of shared printmaking tools.

This workshop will introduce adults to the possibilities of monoprinting with Gelli plates. Participants will explore techniques including layering transparent colors, creating textures, and building compositions through repetition and variation. This process-based workshop welcomes beginners and offers experienced artists an opportunity to expand their printmaking practice through experimentation and intuitive image-making with accessible gelli printing. These prints can stand alone or be used for further printing with block printing..

Adult printmaking workshop this Saturday!

This workshop introduces participants to intaglio printmaking through the use of recycled Tetrapak cartons as printing plates. Participants will learn how to incise designs into the plates and create small editions of prints using a small 3D tabletop etching press. This is a great introduction to printing with Tetra Pak!

This all-ages workshop will introduce children and families to the fundamentals of printmaking through Gelli plate monoprinting. Our September guest artists is Bianca Rose Dominguez. Join Bianca this month for textile dyeing and fabric marbling workshops for adults and families!

Bianca Rose Dominguez is an interdisciplinary artist, healing arts practitioner, and educator based in New York City. She received a B.A. in Visual Arts from Columbia University, an Art Therapy certificate from Metàfora Studio Arts in Barcelona, and is currently completing her MFA in Studio Art at Hunter College. Her work has been supported by the Mortimer Hays Brandeis Traveling Fellowship and developed through residencies in Oaxaca, Chiapas, and Mexico City.

Dominguez's interdisciplinary practice explores diasporic memory, ecological kinship, and ritual as a living, adaptive practice. Working across ceramics, textiles, printmaking, collage, and participatory ritual, she investigates how relationships with the earth can be restored through ancestral knowledge, embodied practice, and cross-cultural exchange. Informed by somatic practice and decolonial thought, her work approaches making as a process of repair, reconnecting body, spirit, and land while transforming histories of displacement into sites of remembrance, healing, and collective encounter.

5 facilitated cohort meeting, Thursdays 7 – 9 pm
Unlimited open studio sessions throughout the duration of the program
October 8th - December 3rd.

Each monthly cohort meeting includes:
Creative and personal check-ins
Sharing works-in-progress
Group discussion and peer feedback
Reflective writing and journaling
Artist talks, readings, or resource sharing
Goal setting for the coming month
Accountability partnerships
Creative wellness practices
