Tam Tam: Offering Music Together in Brooklyn

Tam Tam is excited to support Kids Music Day 2024! We are offering bring-a-friend week to all our enrolled families. So find a family who is already attending Tam Tam's classes and you are welcome to join in with them for a free class this week, September 27-October 5 :)

Keep Music Alive is excited to be working alongside the animated series phenomenon, Bluey , to help inspire more young music makers around the world for Kids Music Day on Friday October 4th. Over 1,200 music schools & stores in the US, Canada and a dozen other countries are offering a special event or promotion to celebrate Kids Music Day (visit Kids Music Day website for locations). PLUS Bluey will release her 3rd single from the upcoming "Bluey: Rug Island" album ON Kids Music Day, Oct 4th. On that note... we will be starting a new semester of Music Together classes for families with kids 0-5 years on January 6th! We will also have a few Babies-Only classes (0-8 months). Let's make a difference.

Our songs (from the much-beloved Family Favorites 2 collection) will be about fun, food, togetherness, and light. We’ll also learn joyous songs from around the world that musically honor different winter holiday traditions, such as Christmas, Solstice, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa. Classes are offered in Fort Greene and Bed-Stuy.

We are thrilled to welcome Joelle Mendoza to Tam Tam's teaching team! Joelle grew up in Santiago, Chile. She has been singing her entire life, everything from choral music to folk songwriting to musical theater. She received a Bachelor of Arts in theatre from Middlebury College, and is currently a Master’s student in music education at Teacher’s College, Columbia. Joelle is passionate about music’s ability to form community, empower young voices and add beauty to the world. She has been a Music Together teacher for several years now, teaching mixed age and bilingual classes, and is excited to join the fantastic team at Tam Tam!

Tam Tam's winter session has just started and you can still join us – indoors, outdoors or on Zoom. We still have space in some of our Monday and Saturday indoor Music Together classes at South Oxford Space, near Barclays Center. (In indoor classes, everyone over 5 has to be vaccinated and everyone over 2 has to wear a mask. All windows and the garden door will be open, and the air purifier will be on.)
