Get ready for the 2026-27 Theatre Season MS 50!

Only a couple weeks into summer and we are already missing our recent graduates! Take a look back at some moments from our Senior Awards Ceremony where we honored more than 75 of our graduates for their accomplishments in academics, the arts, athletics, community care, and more! We were honored to be joined by several special guests including Chancellor Kamar H. Samuels, Dr. David Cintron, Dr. Francis Lucerna, and Eugenio Maldonado.

We are so proud to send these graduates off to an incredible collection of high schools across the city. Last we held our inaugural Art Beat Student Gallery! This gallery showcased student work from across all grade levels and featured painting, drawings, collages, digital art, comic books, 3D models, fashion, and so much more! We are amazed at the incredible creativity of our students. The gallery also featured live music from our Jazz Band and a performance by our dancers.

We love the chance to have our students run the show and that is just what they did at this spring’s D14 Elementary Debate Tournament where our students served as the judges for 200 elementary debaters from across the district and beyond and at the first ever Community School District 14 elementary Mathletes tournament hosted and scored by our Mathletes!

Prom 2026 was magical! We loved the chance to see our incredible 8th graders dressed to impress and celebrate their past three years at MS 50 with a great meal, lots of dancing, and even more laughs.

Our band program put together a spectacular spring concert! Our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade concert bands performed alongside our jazz band and student-led jazz quartet for a packed house. Check out the recording of their performance on our YouTube page and website! Shoutout to Principal Honoroff who even made a guest appearance in our 8th grade band!

The MS 50 Spring Dance Recital was a dazzling showcase of our multi-talented students! Under the spectacular direction of our dance instructor Ms. Janelle, our students put together a wide variety of pieces spanning multiple genres and disciplines. In May, our student scientists displayed their remarkable research and months of hard work at our 4th annual science fair! Each project used the scientific method to explore hypotheses centered around students’ interests. Our staff and guest judges scored each project and the top projects in each class took home ribbons!
