MS50-El Puente Community School

Last week, we celebrated an incredible year of athletic and academic competitions with our annual pep rally and student vs staff basketball game! This year, we had the opportunity to raise two banners celebrating our Soccer and Boys Varsity Basketball teams and their district championships.

A huge congratulations to our debate team for an incredible showing this past weekend at the third NYC Reads debate! We had many teams go undefeated across all divisions and some of the top speakers city-wide. We could not be more proud of each and every student for waking up early on a Saturday to show how much they’ve learned over the past months and to use their voices to make change. Go warriors!

Which event are you most excited for?

Our volleyball team has had a great season so far and the environment in our gym is electric! Come out on Friday for their last home game of the regular season to cheer our Warriors on to victory!

Save the date! MS 50 Theatre’s spring musical “Footloose: Youth Edition” is just over a month away! Come see our incredible cast cut loose on stage as they show off the months of hard work on and off stage. Admission is free and no tickets are required! Bring out the whole family on Friday evening, May 15th or Saturday afternoon, May 16th. See you there!

Save the Date for our annual Champions Dinner hosted by our El Puente Community Schools team on Wednesday, May 6th from 6-8PM at MS 50! We will break bread together, reflect on the achievements of the past year, and begin planning for the next school year! You are also invited to a Community Resource Fair before the dinner to connect with local non-profits and other resources from 4:30-5:45PM.

The MS 50 Boys Basketball team is District Champs!! It was an incredible game to cap off a hard fought, undefeated season! We are so proud of the growth as players and young men this whole season. A huge shoutout to the fans that showed up to cheer on this team all season long and our incredible cheerleading squad who brought unmatched energy to each and every game. Let’s go Warriors!
