Welcome Back, Teachers! ✨🍎 ¡Bienvenidos de nuevo, maestros! We kicked off the school year with a special Welcome Back Teacher Breakfast 🥞☕—a small way to say thank you for all the energy and heart you bring every day.

Comenzamos el año escolar con un desayuno especial de bienvenida para nuestros maestros 🥞☕—¡una pequeña manera de decir gracias por toda la energía y el corazón que ponen cada día!

Many shared how grateful they were for the attention to food allergies and dietary needs, especially the gluten-free options 💛. We’re so glad everyone could enjoy and feel cared for at the table.

Muchos compartieron lo agradecidos que estaban por la atención a las alergias alimentarias y necesidades dietéticas, especialmente por las opciones sin gluten 💛. Nos alegra que todos hayan podido disfrutar y sentirse cuidados en la mesa.

The PS 124 Mutual Aid Group is excited to announce our next seasonal clothing and housewares swap!

Why We Gather
As a mutual aid group, we believe these events thrive when everyone pitches in—not just by donating, but by helping to sort, organize, and build community together. Please avoid bringing large, unsorted bags of items.

With the challenges many community members are facing we want this event to be a space where neighbors feel safe, welcome, and connected. So bring your kids, snacks, bubbles, and come spend time together!

What to Expect

Donations will be accepted the day of the event at PS 124.

If you bring items, please plan to stay and help sort—even if only for a short while.

Volunteers are needed throughout the day for setup, sorting, and cleanup.

Families are encouraged to bring snacks to share with kids.

Coffee, donuts, breakfast sandwiches for all volunteers!

Why Swap?
Swapping keeps quality items in circulation, reduces waste, and helps neighbors access what they need—at no cost.

Take home what works for your family—no need to donate in order to receive.

This is a community-wide event open to everyone, not just PS 124 families.

Donation Guidelines
✔️ Bring only in-season, high-quality items in great condition (ask yourself: Would I buy this second-hand?); all housewares should be in working order
❌ Items that don’t meet this standard should go to textile recycling (many local farmers’ markets collect them). Please don’t bring them to the swap—this creates extra labor for volunteers.
