Located in the heart of Brooklyn’s Industry City, Terry Knickerbocker Studio provides students with an artistic home and supportive, diverse community as they pursue their artistic calling for excellence. Offering foundational training in Meisner Technique (and so much more), we at TK Studio have tailored our training to help develop a confident and resilient

actor while protecting and promoting the actor’s wellbeing. Whether it is our two-year conservatory or a seasonal intensive, we have carefully designed our class schedule to maximize your time and training. TK Studio is not for dabblers; TK Studio is for passionate actors who are dialed in, ready to take themselves seriously, and embark on developing and expanding their tools to tell their story.

A dancer, actor, director, and conservatory alum, Celestine brings every part of her artistry to her teaching. Grounded in the Meisner tradition and shaped by her own distinct perspective, she helps students move beyond the pressure to fit in, trust their instincts, and step into their full expansiveness.

Classes start September 22nd
Tuesdays, 7:00–9:30 p.m.
Saturdays, 1:00–3:30 p.m.

The joy of acting is allowing yourself to be fully affected.

“Upset me. Scare me. Get angry with me. Fall in love with me. Give me the whole experience.”

In Meisner training, that emotional truth can come from the imagination. The actor doesn’t need to mine personal trauma to make the work real. The imagination is just as potent, and when the scene ends, the actor can let it go.

Acting should open you up to truth, beauty, and the full range of human experience. It should never require you to harm yourself in the process.

Nothing beats seeing our alumni doing what they do best. 🎭

Congratulations to Ellington, Stella, Steve, and Yinka on a fantastic production of Much Ado About Nothing with Shakespeare on the Rocks. We’re always proud to see our alumni bringing their work to stages across New York City.

A big congratulations as well to Shakespeare on the Rocks founders Elwin Cuevas and Robert Bryn on another successful season and for creating more opportunities for live theater to thrive.
