Most people know Junior Mark Gulchin as a stellar classmate, but did you know he’s also a nationally ranked fencer?

Mark just wrapped up an incredible weekend at a major competition in Orlando, placing 15th in the Senior Division (Division I) while going toe-to-toe with Olympians and top college recruits.

And the excitement doesn't stop there—Mark has officially been selected for the U.S. National Team! He’s flying out to Slovakia this week to represent the Red, White, and Blue on the international stage.

On Thursday, October 8th, over 150 students and faculty gathered for our annual Day of Service, to benefit both our school community and the greater community at large.

Members of the school community engaged in activities such as coloring books and get well cards for sick children, thank you cards and paracord bracelets for veterans, holiday puzzle sheets for nursing home residents, and other activities of need. Compassionate, servant leadership begins at home, our home.

Today, we remember in a special way the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill on the feast day of their congregation, the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. Our school community is forever grateful for the foundation these women laid for St. Edmund Prep. This October, the St. Edmund Prep volleyball program is once again coming together for our annual Dig Pink campaign in support of The Side-Out Foundation and its mission to advance research for people living with metastatic breast cancer.

Throughout the month, our team is doing many fundraising efforts to bring our school community together and raise as much as possible for this important cause. We will be holding four bake sales, selling our 2026 Dig Pink Shirts which will be sold during all lunch periods for $20 each, running a 50/50 raffle, making boxes to win Ranger Vs Islander Tickets, and collecting donations through our online campaign. Students, families, faculty, alumni, and members of our community are all invited to participate and help us spread the word.

Every donation, purchase, and contribution helps us make a difference. Our official Dig Pink game will be held in the gym on October 13, 2026 against St.Joseph Hill beginning at 4:30 pm. I would love to see the whole school community come together to support this cause!
