We wanted to stop in just to remind everyone that although we cherish the time we spent on The Youth Farm, The Brooklyn Greenhouse has chosen to no longer be affiliated with that Farm. We appreciate the emails we’ve received however we don’t run their field trips or STEM programming. We are not sure where to forward your requests as of now. Believe it or not now is the time to collect your seeds for spring planting! But which ones? Recently a school's groundskeeper Mr. Johnson won a massive civil suit against Bayer's Monsanto. They make the weedkiller Roundup which accidentally spilled over his body at work. It was found to have caused his cancer and he was awarded a 289 million award. He agreed to 78 million. Guess what? There are seed companies associated with this same company who make genetically modified seeds. Here's a list of companies who aren't affiliated with Monsanto.
