We are so excited at the Red Hook Art Project to launch our I Am Not Broken series at this year's Juneteenth public exhibition.
This special exhibition will showcase more than 150 pieces of artwork created by students living in Red Hook and throughout the waterfront community. We are incredibly proud to celebrate the creativity, talent, and voices of these young artists.
The artwork will be displayed for three months along the black fencing surrounding the park, transforming the space into an outdoor gallery that reflects the stories, experiences, and imagination of our community's youth.
We could not be more proud of what these young people have accomplished, and we are honored to share their work with the community.
We hope you will join us for this meaningful celebration and help us uplift the next generation of artists. We look forward to seeing you there!
With gratitude,
The Red Hook Art Project Team

Field Trip to Our Mural!
Today, our young Emerging Artists took a special trip to the Red Hook Terminal to visit the mural created by our older Emerging Artists!
Seeing their artwork displayed on such a large scale was inspiring, exciting, and a reminder that creativity can leave a lasting mark on our community. The students had the opportunity to take photos in front of the mural, learn about the artists who created it, and imagine what they might create one day themselves.
Big dreams start with small steps. Art connects generations. Community makes it all possible.
Can you spot your favorite part of the mural? Tell us in the comments!

Today, we were beyond excited to see one of our very own students, Cosma, along with so many other talented young people, participate in the annual Pioneer Works Regatta!
What makes this event so special is that these young people don't just race boats they build them. They spend months learning, creating, problem-solving, and developing new skills that ultimately bring their ideas to life on the water.
We are especially proud of Cosma and her amazing cat-themed boat! Anyone who knows Cosma knows that her love for cats shines through in everything she creates, and it was beautiful to see her personality and creativity reflected in her work.
A special shout-out to Cosma's mom for always making sure her daughter has access to creative opportunities and for encouraging her to fully participate in the arts whenever possible. That kind of support makes a world of difference, and it is truly inspiring to witness.
Watching young people grow, create, and confidently share their talents with the community is exactly why moments like these matter. We are so proud of you, Cosma!

Today, the Red Hook Art Project had the opportunity to table at the annual Regatta, and what an incredible day it was!
There is something truly special about watching students, young adults, and adults take to the water and race boats they helped build through months of learning, dedication, and hands-on skill building. Seeing their hard work come to life is nothing short of inspiring.
Beyond the races, what stood out most was the community. Families, friends, neighbors, artists, makers, inventors, and supporters all came together to celebrate these participants and cheer them on every step of the way. Events like this remind us of the power of learning, creativity, perseverance, and community connection.
A huge thank you to Pioneer Works for creating a space where innovation, craftsmanship, and community can thrive together. We were honored to be part of such a meaningful day.

Today, our Executive Director had the honor of serving as a panelist at Spring Bank’s "Let’s Talk Finance, Let’s Talk Business" event right here in the Red Hook, Brooklyn community.
We are incredibly grateful to have been part of such an important conversation focused on financial empowerment, entrepreneurship, and community growth.
As a proud client of we know firsthand the impact they continue to make. They have been a true partner in our work supporting our mission, helping us better understand the financial needs of young people, and investing in opportunities that teach youth about financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and how to create pathways to earning and economic independence.
Spring Bank has also provided seed funding for one of our programs, helping us turn ideas into opportunities for the young people we serve.
Thank you, Spring Bank, for continuing to believe in our work, creating space for meaningful conversations, and investing in the future of Red Hook. Partnerships like these help strengthen our community and create opportunities for the next generation to thrive.

🌈 Tonight, the Red Hook Art Project is proud to be tabling at Teen Night at the Brooklyn Museum!
This evening is centered on celebrating LGBTQ+ voices, fostering belonging, and creating artwork that honors and supports all of our loved ones in the spaces we share. Through art, we can build community, spark conversations, and remind one another that everyone deserves to feel seen, valued, and welcomed.
A special thank you to our incredible intern, Lula, for representing RHAP tonight and serving as an ambassador for our organization. We are grateful for your leadership, creativity, and commitment to uplifting young people through the arts.
